I did tell them to do the oil pump disk but they said that the exhaust hub was the only thing that needed to be changed.

See attached invoice of what they did.
They are correct, the VAC hub does not need a new pump disc.

If that is what was done to your car, then sounds like installer error or an issue with the replacement part.
Concur, somehow I missed the fact that you recently had the VANOS hub done. Can't really see whats going on in the photo. Which bearings gave out?

    UGH finally got an update.

The shop said after taking a look at the VANOS system, the bearing inside shattered. He believes it was on the exhaust side. The same shop did the exhaust hub work a couple of months ago, but said that this was not related to that. The bearing that shattered was not an item you can rebuild. I have no idea what they are saying but after look at the photos, it looks bad.

So now we are trying to source a whole new VANOS unit. He believes getting a new unit will solve the issue. They are going to look for one, but if they can't I am just going to order the Beisan system. Totally sucks since I just spent so much on this car with the CSL intake hahahahahahah.

    See photos.

    What do you think?

they even had the tuner of my newly acquired Karb csl box (tuner was hte) put the stock tune back on to see if it was that. Hassan said it was definitely mechanical.

I asked them to pressure test the Vanos and also check the coil packs but they don’t believe it’s that. They said they’ll do some further diagnostics and get back to me. No word today but if I don’t hear back by the end of the week, I’m not sure what to do. May need to tow it to another shop.

kinda bummed as I haven’t driven the car in a couple of weeks now haha I miss the csl intake sound!

I also bought the new Vanos seal kit from Beisan and told them to install it but they said they don’t think it’s that too. I hope they figure this out!

anyone know of any other shops in the LA/OC area that can diagnose my car should the not figure it out? Near redondo Beach is better!

Could be cam sensors, though I thought you were getting both inlet and exhaust codes? Doubtful both sensors failed at the same time.
Not sure as I haven’t heard back from them yet. I agree with you regarding the sensors. I’ll keep you guys posted after I hear back

what was your procedure on checking the coils?
At idle, disconnect each coil one at a time and listen for a change in the idle. When each good coil is unplugged you’ll hear a clearly noticeable change in the idle, but when disconnecting a bad coil your idle won’t change.

I just saw that you flatbed the car already so I’m sure you’ll figure out the problem sooner rather than later, just hope it doesn’t become an expensive hunt for a solution.

A bad ignition coil should cause misfire with fuel cut off. None of OP listed codes with fuel cut off.
