AA and megan ARE euro style and they do fit well save a known batch from Megan a few years back. Non-euro style would be long tube which there are many many reps all along the spectrum of fitment including Supersprint themselves (sometimes not good).

It'll only cost you 43k to find out what the headers look like lol

You can make any exhaust quieter, I went with what I did for weight and power. This setup that I have can be toned way down. The whole exhaust is going through 1 muffler. Most swapped cars imho are catless, modded, and the length of the exhaust changes with different chassis. I'm glad you brought up the fact my car doesn't sound healthy, you're right. That was the first start in over a year, with a battery that wasn't charged. The rough idle is due to that, plus I'm running Alpha-N tuning. I just started the car up to show people the sound of the revs. 🤴 I'll work getting a new battery and start it back up. You can search almost all cars with dual to singles, they sound different. Gen3 Camaro with an LS1, with a single 4" start @ 0:35 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CbOGu5x63o Gen 3 Camaro with an LS1, with 3" true duals start @ 5:05 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJt67hoomCU Another comparison is, 370z's with a single tomei. You can see how they manage sound lvl. https://www.tomeiusa.com/_2003web-ca..._ti_z34-e.html. Check out tomei singles on youtube for 370z.

that car does not sound healthy.

Dual 2.5" = 9.81. Single 3.5" is 9.62. That's a 1.9% difference, which means nothing. The weight of a single 3.5" is lighter than dual 2.5. 3.5" single will support any N/A S54 power levels, be lighter, less complex. Single exhaust will make more power if you ever go F/I. The real issue, people don't want a car with an exhaust that's 110DB.

To your point, it's too loud for most tracks as well, I have a baffle that is easy to install/remove. However, some modern cars are well into the 90db to 100db levels. For example a stock gt350, 93db. Meaning some cars require baffles, in stock trim before they can even be tracked. This is a baffle that was made for another one of my loud cars. It has a turn down to make it even more quiet without the baffle. You can make any exhaust quieter, I went the way I did b/c of weight.

But I would argue that even the bimmerworld race exhaust sounds better, and more like every other BMW NA inline 6. What it has in common with every swapped car I've seen is a single exhaust setup instead of the dual setup that we have.

(skip to 6:20 if it doesn't start there)

I've never heard my car, or any other for that matter, from the outside with the supersprint resonated x pipe, but maybe that's doing most of the work in my setup and not the CPI rasp terminator?

I haven't kept real close track of header development, but aren't the ARH headers supposed to be equal length? From the vids I've seen they still have some rasp, and if equalizing length was the most important factor I would think doing it at the header would be ideal? I've seen some vids which do show some improvement on the S55 with equal lengths, but I wouldn't say it completely fixes the issue.

I'm not smart enough to understand what would be going on that makes the single pipe solution work, but maybe that's the key? Perhaps it's a packaging issue and to get a single pipe diameter large enough to flow the same as two 2.5'' you run into clearance issues? Even if it cost me 5hp, that's a price I'd be happy to pay to get the iconic BMW I6 sound.

I've seen too many videos of S54 swapped e30/e36/etc that don't sound anything like the e46. It's almost as if you can't screw it up when the S54 is in a different chassis. I know these are all single exit cars, but I have a bit of a hard time believing that's it.

(1:50 mark has the best clip)

(0:34 mark is from behind the car)

Any update on the sound clips? I currently have the OEM US header with a dual AR20 resonated OEM s1, oem section 2 and an Eisenmann Sport section 3. I want some more volume to the exhaust. Would this just clean up the sound or be a bit louder?
