I would usually keep it in my glovebox and lock it if I was going somewhere I couldn't bring my CCW inside (work for instance) but I would always end up forgetting it in there. Which then led me down the path of considering buying another for each of my E46s, but then I would need another for home too.. as you can see a slippery slope. As others have said I also didn't love the idea of storing it somewhere so insecure. So I just carry it on my person or my bag.

Also this is pretty fun, BMW X3 gun storage

Crap I just put the fixed stock on my MP5 too!! I keep my CCW on me in the car BUT i typically do not use my M3 to do errands that would end up in any building that restricts firearms.

I bring my CCW to car meets because people are crazy nowadays esp in FL. Probably another reason I stopped going to car meets and drive my car mostly during the day lol. Dont need my CCW then.

Some of our M3's are worth what a legit full-auto MP5 would cost to own, love that flip down setup, badass.

The mount would be easy enough. You just need an MP5 with a happy switch.

BMW Security made an MP5 holder. Replaces rear seat arm rest and ski sack. Flips down via solenoid and switch in dash for easy access to driver. I'd imagine it takes up a fair amount of trunk space, though.

    There's your OE option :P

I think this is the only real option if you want it in reach while in the driver's seat.

heinzboehmer is currently working on making a retrofit for that compartment.

One could get creative and build something that could fit securely into the "spare" tire space.

Back when I was traveling to Texas and Oklahoma regularly I saw a few really creative and very secure solutions for both handguns and long guns, at the time I was working for a company that made Casino software and CCW was not permitted in the Casinos. I did hear a number of stories about how thieves would target the parking lots of the smaller casinos for that reason.

Up here in Canada, you could try poking bad guys in the eye with a stick—but only if Mother Nature herself dropped it from a tree and a squad of nerdy arborists declares it useless for grafting. Problem is, you’d probably get slapped with a human rights violation faster than you can say “maple syrup.” So, unless you’re itching to star in a courtroom drama, best to assume the position and hope it is over quick.

I'd just carry it on your person of you really need a pistol in the M3 as the traditional vaults etc. aren't going to work well if at all.
Correct. You can't leave it in the car unless it's in some sort of vault.

You also technically can't carry in any government buildings, schools, bars, etc. Which is why I asked.

Thanks for the insight guys. I plan to go with a vault wire tired to the hold downs in the trunk.

Amen….gun on your Person is the only proper option I think. If you have to leave it…glovebox locks. But I mean we all know how easy it it to break them open.

I've just got a cable locked vault under my road trip vehicle driver seat for when I'm not in CA but simply looking at the space under my E46 seats, I can't fathom how to get one to fit underneath. My issue with having a lockbox in the trunk is if someone were to spot you stashing it, they might get alarmed or see dollar signs.

Glove box isn't what I'd consider secure. Also, not necessarily for leaving it in the car unattended, but a place to generally keep it safe and secure.

I was just hoping someone had a specific one that maybe fit under the seat, or if they just cable tied a vault into the trunk tie-down points.
