I have been all over the place with intakes, OEM, Eventuri, CSL, Karb OE Style and many combinations of all those in between, and guess what, I will still try this new box sometime next year. why... I guess the question is, why not!

This is a good take. The fact we're still getting new products and toys for this platform from different vendors is 🔥

Ball out maupineda! I also had the Karb carbon airbox and now back to stock w/ eventuri intake and will try my hand at this as well and see.

I'm also waiting for them to do an Eventuri intake vs. Eventuri hybrid airbox comparison, but doesn't seem like they really care for that...

Just curious what is it about a tune that is a hurdle for you? For anyone curious we have some amazing forum members that will handle this for much less than Eventuri quoted(cough Bry5on ) =)

I would love to but the new Eventuri price point doesn't really make sense to me. If anyone in the Bay Area ends up installing the Eventuri I'd love to do a side by side comparison with my OE Karb + Eventuri intake setup.

Probably overthinking it honestly and overpaying for convenience. I uploaded an SMG tune no problems so if it is similar then it really wasn’t difficult. There is also some general intrigue of a new product on the market to test on my project car. I’m generally a cost conscious person so spending an extra grand on this route is a surprising detour for myself. I think i’ve been excited following along on the release hype for many months. Hate to admit it, but the marketing infiltrated my decision making on this as well.

Coming from someone who pulled the trigger on the Eventuri setup, I 100% agree on the pricing miss. It's definitely not competitive to a Turner CSL kit even after a tune. I think the ability to install and remove without any other issues or tuning required was a huge sell for me. I analyzed all the CSL style options and Turner kit seemed like the best deal on the market currently. Ultimately I think it was convenience that won me over and ability to remove and sell it off with an easy return to stock. But... 100% overpriced even for the convenience. That and Palantir picked up the tab 😎

Realizing that I'll also need to figure out how to bleed the SMG system after installing the CSL tank and refilling with SMG fluid. So unless I can find the INPA software and tackle myself that would be another expense wither through a scanner tool purchase or another method. If anyone has access to INPA download to cover my 2002 SMG car needs, please reach out!

Assuming the Kassel software/firmware works, I get...

Kassel tune: $235
Filter from whomever: $100
IAT relocation: $100
shut off valve: 180
Total additional costs: $600ish

So, $2700 all-in for the CSL-rep intake, or $3600 to keep the MAF. I thought the draw with the hybrid was that it wouldn't require the additional expense. Maybe it's just the inconvenience? Or is the drivability really that shaky even with the tune?

I guess I'll wait for the copycats and hope I don't suck a trumpet into the engine.

It's $247.75 for the Kassel Map Sensor Conversion kit. You'll still need a tune.

Do you guys think there will be an Eventuri 10% black friday special for this?

I doubt this year but going forward I think they'll be discounts.

Dont want to derail this thread too much but if you're just relocating the reservoir, you will not need to bleed the smg system.

I wrote on IND's vendor sale thread about this. At $2,918.06 total cost in cart for existing eventuri intake owners, I don't see the value or point to this. A Turner airbox kit prior to tax and tune is $2,174.99, and a Karb OEM style CF box is $1,700 prior to tax. I think Eventuri dropped the ball on this with pricing alone. I don't mind it being more expensive than the Karb OEM style airbox, but not $1,000 more expensive. Passing on this until Eventuri adjusts their pricing to be more competitive.
