Can anyone chime in on what it’ll take to run this setup? Camber settings, fender modifications etc.? Really like this look and like to do on my e46 M3 but not sure how doable it’ll be. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Anyone running the apex VS5RS? Thinking of switching to those from my square CSL rear setup.

Unnecessary weight. It'll be impossible to pick a set of tires that suits both wheels correctly AND our dsc. Possible fitment issues for the rear.

What would be the downside of running a 2 inch stagger?Originally posted by Tbonem3 View PostThat's almost the correct E46 M3 set. The rears should be the 10"ET25, not 10.5" - maybe double check with seller.
If it is the 10.5", they'll still work, but I don't think a 2" stagger is ideal. 245/275 would be best imo.
What would a decent price for a set of used CHRs? Seller states no rash or bends. Pics looks very good.

Love those wheels. I had a set of the machined finish on my E36 as track wheels. I have continually harassed them about making that finish available for all the 18" sizes, sadly to no avail. Regular silver paint would also be better than the gunmetal or black IMO. Looking forward to seeing these once you refinish them.Originally posted by Gt4 View PostBought Bimmerworld TE16 wheels from a member here. They look better in person than pictures IMO. I'm running General Gmax RS, 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 right now, would run 235/45/17 and 255/40/17 or 275/40/17. From what I can tell, the 17" tires would be slightly lighter, by .1 lbs or so. Focusing more on feedback and lightness vs "max grip and width bro!!" For a street car, I like the steering and responsiveness.Originally posted by Gt4 View Post
What tire brand/model and sizes are you using?
For same total diameter and width, a 17’’ tire will be heavier than a 18’’ tire

He confirmed it's 10.5 with 25 offset. But I didn't even find that size on bbs website for the chr.Originally posted by Tbonem3 View PostThat's almost the correct E46 M3 set. The rears should be the 10"ET25, not 10.5" - maybe double check with seller.

From what I can gather, the 17x8.5 is 16 lbs, the 18x8.5 is 17.2 lbs. The 17x9.5 is 16.5 lbs, the 18x9.5 is 17.7. The tires in same sizes are equal weight according to the manufacturer. It will be a small difference but in the most meaningful place. I figure every lb off the wheels, tires, brakes, and suspension are the weight you feel the most and that make a significant impact.

I just look weight on Tirerack and same tire in 275/40/18 is 1lb heavier than 275/35/18.
IMO any wheels/tires setup around 45lbs on rear axle is good. Lighter on front axle when staggered is even better

I was just gonna install the same width tires on the 17" and the same brand/model of tire and then throw the 17" and 18" on the same scale to compare.

While wheels are going to be lighter, tires are going to be heavier due to bigger sidewall. Let us know the weight difference with tires mounted.
You can see tire weight on Tirerack website in Tire spec’s

Going to take off my 18" RE30s in same widths to see if the 17" offers a noticeable performance and ride quality increase. Each wheel is under 16 lbs so hopefully will drop 1.5-2 lbs per corner. Mostly got these as street wheels to enjoy a fat sidewall and as little wheel weight as possible.
