So I thought it would be interesting to run some stats on this thread.

    But.....

I didn't really feel like combing through 18 pages to assemble it by hand.

    So.....

I asked ChatGPT to do it. I don't really trust LLMs for this sort of thing tbh but I did do a bit of validation of the result and it doesn't seem horribly wrong.

1: CSL bucket seats - aside from the originality factor they completely transform the driving experience, you get so much more feedback on what the car is doing.

2: CSL airbox - anyone who has one knows - for me this has had the added enjoyment of working on the tune, etc as well.

3: New OE steering wheel - the feel of a new wheel again is massive for experiencing the car.

4: Yurkan 6 point RACP brace - huge improvement to the rear of the car, the additional stiffness and stability is very noticeable.

5: solid steering coupler - a very significant improvement in handling feel and preciseness.

6: I realize this is number 6, but I'm just super proud of it - repainting by hand the damaged SMG shifter emblem rather than spending 450 euro on a new one.

1: The eBay diffuser a previous owner put on the car. They hacked up the rear bumper to make it fit :-(

2: The K&N “performance” oiled airfilter that PO put on the car - had to clean the intake out and clean the MAF sensor :-(

3: Aftermarket exhaust hangers - I have learned my lesson.

4: the silver enamel paint I used in 2017 to paint the v brace and rear sway bar brackets. The black is awesome, the silver sucks.

5: Glueing c and b pillar fabric. It's just not worth the effort for the end result you get - rewrap properly or buy new.

Yeah they're centered - not the best photo but you can kinda see how the seat is offset to the rails to center it.

    5 I loved:
    1. Euro headers - amplifies the rasp, which I like
    2. RE Diablo exhaust - screams at high RPM
    3. Bilstein PSS10 - just right for a street car with easy adjustability
    4. Bluebus - OE-like integration providing crisp, clean audio
    5. CSL Intake - what more can I say that hasn’t already been

    5 I didn’t:
    1. Angel eyes - while they look nice in certain cases (i.e., at night with a fresh set of lenses), I hate the fact that the chrome surrounds always get chipped during install/the slightest touch
    2. Eonon - lag/freeze
    3. Backup camera - never was able to get a clean install that I liked, ymmv
    4. Lseat leather replacement covers - technically does the job but nothing like OE leather
    5. Armrest delete - personal preference here, nothing more

The sport left me wanting a little more sound, I've since deleted all of the resonators and still want a tad more. Another disappointment with the Eisenman is the equal length tips, why are they not staggered? I love the styling, went with the 76mm which are perfectly sized for the opening. Fortunately, I picked it up used and it'll stay for the time being. I know I'll have to rework the resonator situation when I get headers, OEM euro with the sect 1 cats may be ok.

I had the luxury of hearing both the sport and race on completely stock exhaust systems and the race exhaust as easily louder and more enjoyable. The sport is muffled and IMO starts to sound like the Dinan Section 3 which is quieter but still audible. Depends on whether or not you want that really loud note when you’re stepping on it. Riding along any center divider on the freeway and going through 7K RPM or downshifting between 3rd and 2nd had everyone turning to look at what kind of machine was coming through… just too good. I’ll put it back on one day, but for now I’m working through a valved titanium exhaust that I’m tuning to open/close at various RPM ranges for each gear.

    Satisfied:
    OEM CSL trunk
Vorsteiner front bumper and diffuser (but still want OEM so both ordered via Schmiedmann)
    KW V3
    XPel PPF, windshield and tint

    TBD:
    Eisenmann Sport exhaust (on order)

    Dissatisfied:
Vorsteiner CSL trunk lid (sht fitment, sht customer service)
RE SSK (Autosolutions ssk on order)
BBS LMs (my tastes have changed since 20 years ago, only like all black wheels, anything silver is too close to chrome, Fikse Profil 10s on order)

My M3 has 6K miles. Easy to justify dumping another $7.5K in genuine BMW parts. Fikses are $11.5K USD w/ PS4Ss. Pre-tariff is the justification. lol

Enjoy the OEM CSL trunk. Only way to fly.
