I had the luxury of hearing both the sport and race on completely stock exhaust systems and the race exhaust as easily louder and more enjoyable. The sport is muffled and IMO starts to sound like the Dinan Section 3 which is quieter but still audible. Depends on whether or not you want that really loud note when you’re stepping on it. Riding along any center divider on the freeway and going through 7K RPM or downshifting between 3rd and 2nd had everyone turning to look at what kind of machine was coming through… just too good. I’ll put it back on one day, but for now I’m working through a valved titanium exhaust that I’m tuning to open/close at various RPM ranges for each gear.

    Satisfied:
    OEM CSL trunk
Vorsteiner front bumper and diffuser (but still want OEM so both ordered via Schmiedmann)
    KW V3
    XPel PPF, windshield and tint

    TBD:
    Eisenmann Sport exhaust (on order)

    Dissatisfied:
Vorsteiner CSL trunk lid (sht fitment, sht customer service)
RE SSK (Autosolutions ssk on order)
BBS LMs (my tastes have changed since 20 years ago, only like all black wheels, anything silver is too close to chrome, Fikse Profil 10s on order)

My M3 has 6K miles. Easy to justify dumping another $7.5K in genuine BMW parts. Fikses are $11.5K USD w/ PS4Ss. Pre-tariff is the justification. lol

Enjoy the OEM CSL trunk. Only way to fly.

Not much has been done throughout the years I've originally owned the car & I've only recently bought it, so kinda feeling like I'm listing all the mods. lol

    Loved:
    Autotechnik Halos
    Megan Racing prototype exhaust
    Front bumper QD pins
Apex FL-5 18x10 square set up
    KW V2s

    Not so Loved:
    Avant 4 - for the money I was expecting a better plug+play
Hawk Pads - in-between owner had to replace during the height of the pandemic and it was the only thing he could get his hands on
Seibon CSL boot lid - loved at first since it came with the car, but over time it crapped out and buckled. Will be saving up for the new Karb lid
BC camber plates - hate that you have to drop the front suspensions to adjust them. will be switching to turners or vorshlag in the future
Driver - Always complains and nit-picks, too cautious, always spends too damn much on the car

For the most part, i liked most of the mods i put in the car. But here are some I loved and some I liked less.

    Loved
    1. KW clubsport
    2. Apex EC-7 18" square setup
    3. Schrick 280/272 cams
    4. Supersprint exhaust (SSV1, section 1 w/ euro cats, resonated section 2 and sport muffler)
    5. ZCP steering rack

    Bonus - regular maintenance.

    Liked a little less
    1. CSL airbox with map and working snorkel. Glorious sound, but added stress from emission compliance.
    2. 996 bbk conversion. Works well but needs a 20mm with my zcp wheels upfront.
    3. Manual swap. I always enjoy a good manual, but I do miss the SMG on the track and the quick downshifts.
    4. CSL kingpin. Not sure if i felt a big difference.

I bought a second m3 on Friday, driving home currently and have done about 1000 miles so far. It’s mostly stock except for some lowering springs, and I can tell that some parts of the car are original and worn out (it’s an 05 with about 100k on it).

From this drive, I’m really missing these things:

    1. 3.85 ratio rebuilt diff.
    2. 17” wheels and 275s
    3. RTD Shifter
    4. My ground control coil overs.
    5. Headers and Tune.

Things I will be leaving stock/replacing with new genuine parts:

    1. Cooling System
    2. Chrome grills
    3. New multifunction steering wheel in leather (new car is a ZCP with worn out alcantara.
    4. Swapping the nav for a business cd and bluebus
    5. I won’t be doing an accidental diffuser delete like I did on my previous m3

    5 mods I've loved:
    • Supersprint sport exhaust
    • Evolve eventuri intake
    • E60 shifter + new shift cup/bushings
    • ZHP shift knob + new shift boot
    • Rewrapped leather steering wheel with increased thickness
    Mods I didn't love:
    • Blacked out kidney grills/side grills
    • Tint (esp trying to take it off)
    • The front lip that the original owner put on
    • Aftermarket air filter (didn't do anything on a stock intake)

Years ago when I was younger it looked cool but I outgrew it fast.

Hey bud I already sold the Alcantara wheel on here a few months back.

Ahah not anymore. All back to black now. I even got a nappa leather armrest from overseas to compliment the new steering wheel.
