    My 150,000 mile Carbon Black E46 M3

    Hello all,

I’ll start off by saying I’m glad we got another forum up and running so soon. Of course, as soon as I picked up my car the forums went down. Anyways, onto the story.

I’ve been looking for an E46 M3 for around a year now. My criteria was that the car had to be a coupe, and it had to have a manual transmission. A couple months ago I finally found my car, a 2002 Carbon Black M3, manual, with 148,000 miles on it. It was priced near the top of the market, at $14,500, however after some negotiation I got the seller down to $13,000. On February 29th, I flew down to Atlanta and set off on my 1,500+ mile journey home. Besides from a few issues I wasn’t aware of, mostly cosmetic, the car has been rock solid.

When I purchased the car, it already had the following done to it:
    • WPC coated bearings @ 142,000 miles
    • Subframe reinforcement plates welded in
    • Mason bar installed in the rear, for extra bracing
    • Vanos has been gone through
    • Most, if not all of the bushings in the car have been replaced
    • Euro headers
    • Euro cats
    • ZHP yellow tag steering rack
    • Stiffer adjustable sway bars
    • Lowering springs
    • Auto-solutions short shifter
    • UUC clutch pedal
    • UUC clutch (rated for 1000hp, heavy AF!)
    • OEM M-performance brake boot / knob
Since I’ve owned the car, I have done the following:
    • Federal EVO ST1’s, 235/40r18 F, 265/35r18 R
    • OEM alcantera shift boot
    • OEM ZHP shift knob
    • Clear corner lights
    • Clear side lights
    • Replaced the quarter window wether stripping
I currently plan on doing the following modifications:
    • New tie rods
    • StopTech slotted & drilled rotors
    • StopTech OE style pads
    • StopTech stainless steel brake lines
    • New fender liner (drivers side forward section)
    • New brake duct (drivers side)
    • New front bumper, painted carbon black
    • New M3 badge, my old one fell off
    • Euro center console delete
    • Coilovers (let me know if you have an old set you need to get rid of!)
    • OEM A-pillars
    • OEM C-pillars
    • Colby wrapped alcantera steering wheel
    • Quarter window gaskets
All of that stuff should keep me busy, I already ordered the brakes. Let me know if there are any more parts that you guys suggest I get!

Sorry in advance if my pictures are all out of wack, I’ll have to get used to uploading pictures here. I had to downgrade their quality or else the forum wouldn’t let me upload them. I’ll figure out a better way to upload them in the future, in the mean time enjoy my shitty pictures.

Officially crossed 150k. To celebrate this "accolade" I changed the oil for the first time. Old oil looked incredibly dark, glad I changed it when I did. Ordered Stop Tech rotors & pads, who knows when I'll get them.
