Contact info for that car? I'm looking for a rear subframe and maybe some spare axles.Originally posted by samthejam View PostAs y'all know these cars are getting pricey for better or worse. So finding good deals on coupe anything is getting tough. There was a local part out, on a M3 that got wrecked hard. It looks like it was garaged and well kept so a shame it died. However the guy usually parted out E90s so I was able to score some items that Ive had trouble finding.

A shift knob without paying an arm and a leg. I really enjoy the factory M3 one, but with the $500 price tag new and they don't hold up well. So glad I finally found one that was nicer.
Also been looking for one of these.

Got both for $160 and than I was walking around the shell, and noticed the A-C trim still had the rubber intact. I was able to get both for $180. He damaged the left side removing but I stopped him in time it's still salvageable. But yea super happy to be able to do fix the window gasket with all OE parts without spending too much. I'll get the lower quarter panel rubber piece new.

RS4s can be ordered from Hankook Motorsports directly. They're in Austin. I think will the 3rd set of them on this car, I like them more than the ECFs. $265 a tire I can stomach. Just did that for now. Won't be the fastest but not competing anyways, if I was I'd get some used HO-HOs from my used tire guy anyways. Or maybe he'll get some more used A052s in.Last edited by samthejam; 01-23-2026, 08:26 AM.

I just looked it up. A 245/40R18 A052 is $336, a 255/40R17 is $301. That is $140 per set of tires. You get a 100% payback on Fattycharged's wheels after 8 sets of tires. 2-3 years? As much as putting a car on track will ever make financial sense...this is one case that makes total sense if you have a limited tire budget.
Keep a set of 18s so you can run 18s when you get a good deal on a set of used tires.

I know a local someone with an extra set of new in box Arc-8's in a 17x9.5… $1100 keeps me from sending them back to APEX for a return… 😂

If you go with a 17x9.5 et35 wheel then you can go between a 255 and 275. Lots of 255/40R17s. Even in the 275/40R17s - Falken RT660s, NT01s, and Hoosier RCES are all reasonable.Originally posted by samthejam View Post
You're good. I know how it goes!
I just have a lot of 18" wheels, what I ended up with.
George Hill does have some 17" SSRs... . I think also the selection in 17s, I only looked at 275s and the selection wasn't that great. However on the 255s that would open up quite a few options... hmm.
I also really enjoy how the car felt on the 265/35R18. The lower sidewall also had some clearance benefits. It is expensive to get all those things I like about the 265s though.
I was also betting on my used tire guy having a decent supply of 245 A052s to get me through the year. Doesn't look so
Not a fan of the 660s but $1100 a set makes it bearable. I got 26 sessions which is impressive consider the amount of understeer I dealt with. My car likes to overheat the front tires so partly a setup related issue.Last edited by bigjae46; 01-20-2026, 07:02 AM.

You're good. I know how it goes!Originally posted by bigjae46 View PostNice! Why don't you run 17s? The tire bill is much lower. Falken 660s in 275/40R17 are $276 per tire. You can even run 255/40R17s although they may be a little stretched on a 10" wheel. The only bad thing about 17x10s is you can run apex wheels or...apex wheels. More options in a 17x9.5...more streetable too.
Sorry I didn't stop back by at the track...I was screwing with my car until 6pm. At that point I just wanted to go home.

New PB at my local track, still on those used 245 A052s. They gave up the ghost a session after this one.
Biggest slip and slide bloopers from that.
You can roast 3rd gear with 200tws!
How much track out? All of it

As of this post still driving to work on this tire.

Unsure what tires to order next, I still have those ECFs that are bricks if it comes to it.
I also got the bumper securely mounted and both side plastics in.
Definitely wearing out rears before fronts on this car on track, however the fronts are pretty dead too.
The 245s are so fun to drive on, but you can tell they're combined loading struggles. However it's a blast. They also just can't wick away the heat for how I drive and the weight. These yokos arent known for liking that anyways, but from my E28 experience these feel too small. Compound is doing all the work until it gets too hot.Last edited by samthejam; 01-20-2026, 06:03 AM.
