Did you use that 3M weather strip as a replacement windshield trim?

The cracking front windshield trim I replaced with OEM BMW windshield trim.

I don't remember the part number but I have it somewhere.

The 3M adhesive was used to seal the rear doors vapor barriers because water was getting in.

My pictures do not upload in order sorry so it's hard to follow the before/after.

                      Update: 9/10/20

                      Diff fluid and drain/fill bolts.

I made an attachment/adapter for my power bleeder to convert it to a power filler. I love when tools make my job easier.

Old fluid wasn't that bad actually but I had no way of knowing that. Going to do the trans fluid next. Slowly going through everything, trying to make this car solid like the E46.

How many are mad that I didn't use OEM fluid?
Diff fluid is some nasty smelling fluid.

                        Update: 9/13/20

                        Trans fluid

Trans fluid was pretty dirty. Only got to do a quick test drive but it seems to be shifting fine.

On to the next maintenance item or mod.

                            Update: 9/18/20

                            Cleaned and painted calipers

A BBK is not in the near future plans for this car so I just freshened up the current calipers. I brake kleened everything while in there as always.

VHT high heat paint and clear was used. I have had good results from when I painted my E46.

I got lucky car came with fresh Pilot Super Sports, cross drilled + slotted rotors, and brake pads.

                              Update: 9/23/20

Paintless dent removal performed by The Dent Group of VA.

I usually don't do posts like this, mostly because I hardly ever have anyone work on my cars. However this is my second visit to The Dent Group of VA this year. This time I took my new to me E39.

I had a good experience earlier this year when Richie the owner performed PDR on my M3. So when I bought this car which was machine gunned with dings on every single panel of the car I knew to go back to him.

PDR was something I did not want to skimp on. I did not want a mobile service. Richie's facility is climate controlled with all the proper lighting and tools. So I let him keep the car for 3 days so he could not be rushed and work his art.

I am beyond happy. The entire body is straight. My 17 year old panels look great. I highly recommend him and this is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. If you have a enthusiast/collector car or are OCD to my level this is where you need to go.
