Some updates since last time. Turner V2 went in. Got the whole body ceramic coated. The new bell mouth has considerably less material where the new metal tabs are supposed to clip in, and due to the size of the box and design its really hard to fit on WITHOUT damaging the slots with the holes. Managed to get it on but not without damaging the bell at the bottom. C'est la vie. No regrets on the Turner if I'm honest, always knew it wasnt going to be Karb quality but at the price point in the group buy it was a literal no brainer. Next will be a Karbonius box with Karbon snorkel.
The V1 box had the brake booster and bottom large hose connectors completely unglued. Probably why I always felt the car was a bit off since a few months after the original install last year.

Finally go my calipers back from powder coat and repaint, reseal. Since then I've noticed some quality issues with the rebuild, down to the fact that the shop doesnt deal with this caliper set at all. I was the first theyve ever seen. Still, if I can install seals better than them... yah annoying.
For reference, I had to reseal the driver side of the calipers last year just after winter due to leaks. Seals had gone bad and they were the cause. From the pics you can see that this setup has both oil and dust seals inside the piston cylinder, when reseating the piston its quite a pita to get back in without screwing up the seals. Which I later found out they didnt do appropriately. You can see the seal peeking through in the pic below.
The result after a track day
Ill keep monitoring this and trying to get it to work. For reference this is the kit thats on the car https://racingbrake.com/bmw-irp-11
When its working properly, it's quite good. I've since ordered track rated pads from RB since that track day where I had aggressive street/sport pads. Another track day in 2 days time will tell me what the next steps are in this regard.

Random photo dump, just catching glimpses of this thing sometimes reminds me what an insane thing I have on my hands. It's weird to me owning what is basically my dream car, coming from a point of scarcity to this, I dont think im missing that much more being in something else. Peak M3, maybe peak car for me as well.
Love it, need another one to keep bone stock.2006 Silber Grau Metalizat ZCP 6 MT

April/May 2021
Spring cleaning included, rebuilt injectors, cleaned air rail/valves.
Bit of warm water and throttle body cleaner did wonders. Gentle scrub with Qtips to agitate gunk then shop towel for wipe down and clean. Mega satisfaction.
Did my best to clean surrounding areas as well.
Oh and also new OEM roundels and rear M3 debadge as its out of spec, way too large. I have a gloss black emblem but I'll wait to put it on until maybe a CSL trunk that I deem worthy arrives. Until then I live that 318i life.

Man it's been a while since the last update a lot has happened and will happen this winter season. Hope it all goes well.
To pick up right after the above. Fitted ssv1 catless dual exhaust and kept scza. This install was a pita due to the heft of the v1s. Didn't not enjoy at all. Then tuned a month or so after with Hassan again.
Removal was quite easy lots of room with euros.
Cleaning and making nice too.
Used the provided spacers from SS had no issues with rubbing of heat shield on sec2.
Had to negotiate this gap a bit, some aggressive pressing to bend the heat shield was necessary.

Tuning after on a different dynojet and different shop, done on July 22, 2021. The first run showed a baseline of 313whp and then Hassan went to work. The shops setup was quite good , large fan with condenser for blowing cool air. It was decent not great the temps outside were quite hot and eventually we would hit higher iats.
Was happy with the end result. Hassan mentioned car was making on average 10deg less timing than cars in the us on 91 octane. I had filled my car with 94 octane from Petro. Always have. Canadian cars do seem to struggle to meet timing targets vs US counterparts.
Still need blower fans imo, car was heat soaked by run 4 numbers just started to drop off.
From the previous posts baseline run of 313whp ended with 329.69whp/250.89wtq sizeable gain. Hampered by temps in the shop ambient was high 80F i believe. We tuned my brothers E36 M3 just beforehand. I was hoping for something above 330whp but i couldn't book the same Dyno as last time and that has a huge effect, as well as similar time of year to tune. The overall delta of the session is what is amazing and super happy with.
Butt Dyno when I first drove this setup vs the euro OEM 1 and 2 with same scza was slightly increased midrange torque. Just felt more shove if that makes sense. Had no issues with quality and fitment, it was just a collosal pain in the ass to get these v1s on the block then tightening those FUKING nuts. I'd honestly rather pull the engine then do that shit again.2006 Silber Grau Metalizat ZCP 6 MT

Started tracking, quickly noticed my OEM seats are terrible for it. Went with the OG option of Nogaros Circuits, thanks to Tbonem3 COVID-19 and Obioban for the help throughout the process.
Ordered from deemontweeks, was the cheapest option and went with the vinyl and dynamica center. Then had them reupholstered with mtexture from ASC fabrics. Then Tyler fabric marker mod. Other than CSL intake, hands down vest mod. And saves a shit ton of weight off my full option car 😔.
Each OEM seat was about 65lbs (side bolster, lumbar and heat) and the Nogaros with OEM manual sliders and Brey mounts about 34lbs. The Brey mounts did give me issues the holes mounted when not attached to the rails and then didn't line up when on the rails. Had to file them for space. Bit of an annoyance and not ideal. May look at other options later on.
Stock vs Modded
FInal look, did the arm rest delete console as i sat too low and the arm rest was no longer optimal like it was before.
CSL battery vs OEM as well, another few lbs lost. Around 75lbs or so gone from the car with a few grand from my pocket as well.

Then the last aesthetic piece was to paint my ebay CSL diffuser and the vorsteiner CSL trunk i had recently acquired.
No idea what diffuser this is.
Before pic with the OEM diffuser, honestly really like this look with the scza raw 80mm Ti tipidy tips.
First fitment not great. Can get the latch to close without a firm push. Trunks super light and even on old worn shocks it shoots up. It looks unbelievable fml, a single tear...
I'll keep trying to get it close to 99% tips are very welcome.
Yah this car man 🤩2006 Silber Grau Metalizat ZCP 6 MT

With fitting the trunk i measure weight as follows.
OEM trunk naked 26.8lbs Vorsteiner trunk naked 11.3lbs
I mounted the CSL trunk without the grey cardboard trim or the tool kit. Wanted to see the CF and also save as much weight. I will weight the rest to see total weight lost but I'm assuming another 5lbs roughly. Give or take -20lbs loss off the rear.
After these mods i had some rear camber arms installed along with a full rear bushing refresh on the trailing arms. Then had the car corner balanced with a generous 3/4tank (rounding down from maybe 7/8). Total weight was 3309lbs.
That was before the trunk install, so hopefully I'm somewhere around 3280lbs. I tried removing some of the rear scaffolding since car has nav and CD changer back there. If i remove the CD/nav the head unit goes blank and i kinda like it. The way around this is more expensive, anvin and interior tear out to remove everything including the cables. Eventually I'll get this done. I'd love more functionality and less weight overall.
What can I expect with this in weight loss, if anyone knows please chime in.Last edited by CrisSilberGrau; 01-30-2023, 03:21 PM.2006 Silber Grau Metalizat ZCP 6 MT

- nav wiring harness (11 lbs)
- head unit (5 lbs)
- GPS antenna (.1 lb 🙄)
- trunk brackets and Mk IV unit (5 lb)
- trunk subwoofer assembly (7 lb)
- interior and dash out so tore out the brown firewall sound deadening like the CSL (4 lb)
added the following back in:
- business CD wiring harness (10 lb)
- business CD radio (2 lb)
- sunglass tray!
And got the smaller amplifier mount and trunk liner with the extra space. I tried an Avin in my E39 and it was garbage, sent back within a day. The business cd is functional and looks timeless IMO

Next on the dock was the aux fan removal and SPAL 2049. I had been going to the track a lot this past season and coolant temps started to creep up. I also did a a full coolant flush, still need to replace the hoses, water pump, and thermostat but for now they all seem to be fine. Maybe the hoses are the easiest to replace as I don't know the state they are in on the inside. The coolant at the track would often go past middle, and it never used to. That could be down to a multitude of things, I did run the car in hot sessions. But also ran it at the start of the season and there were no issues with coolant temp.
Got the smaller fan as part of a deal from a car gruppe member but decided to go with the tried tested and true 2049.
There were feathers in the ac condenser. Used rad cleaner and a power washer, a lot of shit came out. Lot of bugs, rocks etc.
It looks a lot cleaner than the pic suggests, I still need to clean up the wiring. Used black tape to keep the look on point. There's a lot more to do to clean everything up.
Next up was some maintenance after the track. The oem sway links were toast. Got some Bimmerworld ones for cheap, and immediately had to replace on of the bearings cause they clunk. The work quite well now and no noise. Easy install, easy to tune.
More Tyler mods , cams aint cheap families.
Also cleaning and inspecting, you can never be too sure with Turner CSL. I have a very good friend that helps with fixing and making it super sturdy, but it still needs touch ups. This is the V2, the tabs are metal now and they dont break, but they do break the bell housing which is now thinner than the V1. I hope they keep developing this piece it has the optics, in terms of design. The quality is not there but it looks really fuking cool.
Some more work to sooth the M soul.
Now the OEM strut bar I know wasnt bent when I got the car. Through the honest work I've been putting the car through this was probably just a matter or time. There's a slight bend just by the drivers side. It's barely noticeable looking straight on, but doing regular maintenance eventually I spotted it. Coincidence a day ago Slon released their triangular CF kit, for quite the sum of doREmi, however it looks proper has proven torsional rigidity improvements. For now I have to pass, I've made a lot of moves this off season with new suspension, engine work, and interior (reupholstered wheel), well has run a little dry.
Also went back to OEM sparks. For now.
Finally at the end of the season, I got the car some new ceramic and some light buffing from one of the gents in the track car gruppe. I'm not well versed in this and It was nice to see the beads again. Car looked mega when it came out of his garage and yah, I never wanted this color, I was so hell bent on Interlagos with Mtexture, but those cars were out of reach for me back in 2019 when I was looking. Now I absolutely love the detail of this color, and how many variations I see constantly of it.
At Mosport for a car festival. Just stunning.

Saw this on a beach day last year, pure fuking klasse.
