    Boston’s Jet Black/LSB build

Let’s get to the point. I totaled my e46 m3 after pushing it too hard in the backroads. I recently got into BMWs a few years ago after stumbling across the e46 m3. It was everything I could want in an all around package. Early 2000s is perfect. Since 2016 I’ve owned 7 bmws. I regret selling my 2001 750il sport black/black with 70k miles, and my e36 M3/4/5 Techno violet. I also wish I would’ve never crashed m3. It sucks to know I had so much maintenance invested in the car. I didn’t get enough back from insurance. Time to move on and use my knowledge from the previous m3 to enhance the experience of my next. A few months after the crash, a man named Eti sends me a text, saying he bought my car from an auction and was going to fix it. I helped answer questions about the car and we still talk from time to time.

I was searching for a replacement car for about a year. I needed it to be a face lift black/black coupe manual with around 100k miles I ended up stumbling across a 2005 Jet black ZCP with 115k. It was exactly what I wanted. I purchased this car from a forum member named Zack. He bought the car from a forum member with the username that was like “xM3P0W3Rx” or something like that. I would really love to keep in touch with the previous owners so if you know then please reach out.

After reading the for sale ad and looking at videos, I decided to get a PPI, which was also from my a forum member. Only $100 and he gave lots of great info. It needed some TLC and wasn’t perfect, but everything major checked out. Thank you Corry for the detailed inspection (m3forum member Beavis). I spoke with Zack for 2 months about the car before purchasing, as he was busy with travel. We came up with a time to meet and I booked a one way flight from Iowa to New York. Zack picked me up from the airport with my new car. After I inspected and drove it, I handed over some cash, and was on my way home. It was a great 20 hour drive home, not a single hiccup. Thanks again for the great communication and honesty from Zack. He was great and made my buying experience memorable.

I have plans to maintain and refresh many parts of this car. After maintenance and bulletproofing, I want to put on some big mods. I want to get a VF570 supercharger. I know some people are against this and NA is the best, but it’s on my bucket list, and can be easily removed. After enjoying a supercharger for some time I will most likely remove it and install a CSL airbox. The car is a only driven on the street, maybe 2-3000 miles a year. I currently have two other e46 non-m that I daily.

I didn't expect to make another journal after I lost all my info on the m3forum... so I am missing a lot of pictures, and didn't care to take any when I did the recent work.

Many of these are cell phone pictures.

Here is my old 2002 m3. The damage doesn't look too bad but it is. The rear end slammed hard in the ditch and the mound of dirt pushed the rear end. On each C pillar there are dents. The underbody had some damage too. I could've bought the car back for $3500.. I have no idea why I didn't. Lesson learned. However I did have permission to swap anything back off the car. I took some of the mods back like the supersprint exhaust, LSB interior, gloss black grills, F10 M5 knob, etc.

2002 BMW M3 black/black 105k clean title vanos done, and lots of refreshing.

The next few pictures are from Eti. He is the gentlemen who bought my crashed car from the insurance auction. I think he said it was $7500 out the door.
He had a shop fix the paint and he also fixed the broken suspension. Subframe reinforcement ... new wheels and tires..

This LSB interior has a story to it. For most of it's life it lived in Canada. A gentleman rolled his car and airbags deployed. He sold the interior. The next owner Ahzim (who I bought it from) installed it in his car and shortly after.... crashed it. I buy it from him and then guess what... crash it. So this interior has been through 3 accidents lol. Now in the 4th car. Lets hope that was the last time.. Lol.
I found the interior in Canada and Ahzim drove 8 hours across the border to meet me in Detroit, Michigan. I was looking for a rare interior, something more unique than imola red or cinnamon. It was also nice to add the adjustable lumbar and inflatable bolster support, which the black interior did not have.

My close friend is Dan, (“xM3P0W3Rx”)... I'm 99% sure he bullet proofed the vanos before selling as he was the local vanos guy in NYC that everyone went too. I'll chat with him later and ask him... I do remember that car, it was super clean.

Yes that’s him. haven’t had any contact with him. I thought I had his number but texted him but with no response. He must not want to talk. Interesting you say the Vanos that would save me a lot of time and money. I know he has had multiple m3s so hopefully mine is the one you’re talking about. Any leads will help, thanks

Update: I did read through some old texts and I did confirm Dan was the previous owner, and sold it to the guy I bought it from. I sent him a text with (941) number but no reply. If I find out the vanos has been completed it will save me lots of time and money. Thanks for anyone to commented.

Hey Boston hope all well man this is Zack. Crazy random I came across this post but glad you’re still enjoying the car man I miss it often.

COVID messed up some plans. Sold some other cars right after the e46 and randomly found myself in an e92 mid quarantine. Wasn’t even on my radar but was just a good deal at the dealership a mile from my house and missed an M3 in my fleet.

Hey Zack, great to hear from you. I was wondering if you would find your way to the new m3forum. Glad you did. Nice pickup on the e92! I'm sure you will enjoy it. I sent you a text last month with some updates on the car, but it didn't send as iMessage. Perhaps you have a new phone number?
