    JD'Auria Individual M3 Journal

This is my 3rd E46 M3 (previous - '06 Silver Gray/Black ZCP/6MT and '02 Steel Gray/Imola Red Convertible 6MT). I had an E39 M5 for 5 years and E90 M3 previously as well. Always found myself going back to the E46 M3 platform in my head and recently acquired this gem. After missing out on a few over the years, I was fortunate to stumble upon this and timing was perfect. Car came with records back to 2004, original window sticker and some OEM+ modifications.

First order of business (besides buying up some maintenance items), was to remove the old school Dynavin D99 head-unit. Luckily, car came with the original business radio and HVAC trim pieces that were mint so I decided to go back to OEM status. Eventually, I'd like to add BlueBus for BT capabilities - I believe it's backordered until at least February.

Taking apart everything takes some time, but I have fairly familiar with these so it took no time at all. Removing a everything, I started to notice this vehicle was wired up for a chase! Definitely a laser jammer was installed, and it's hardwired for a radar as well. I removed the laser jammer as I see no real use for it, even though the install was done very well.

Removed the phone holder, not sure why this was ever installed.

Also took out the OEM armrest and went with a armrest delete retrofit. I always find myself putting up the armrest and not using it, most of the time just getting in the way. Installed OEM armrest delete for a cleaner look.

In addition, sold the Gruppe M intake system that was installed in the vehicle and put it back to stock airbox for now. CSL Airbox or BUST!

Not to worry, the shiny imola seats were remedied with Ammoy NYC interior cleaning products shortly after.

Recently had the shifter rebuilt, it was quite sloppy. I removed the UUC SSK lever and installed the OEM lever back and bought a brand new OEM shift knob. Night and day difference, shifts are buttery smooth now. In addition, had the ebrake adjustment done as well.

Acquired some ZCP brake carrier/bracket for upgrade in the near future. Moving again in a couple weeks, will actually have my own garage for the first time! Will be doing spark plugs and oil service then.

Putting together a parts listing for VANOS bulletproof as well

Beautiful spec and great work man. CSL fronts as you've probably heard from the M3F group buy are NLA from BMW, sad.

Yes sadly NLA, but i'll continue to search around. I'll have to just be patient on it.

              ---------

Waiting to close on my first property in about 10 days, M will have it's first very own garage (at least in my ownership). That'll give me the space and time to address a few things in the near future. Next up: Spark Plug Service, Oil Service, and ZCP rotors retrofit.

                    ----

Unfortunately, not much to update. M has been on a tender last few weeks. I was able to take it out quickly for a local Car's and Coffee hosted by Adam's Polish but that's really it. I still have not hit 83,5 miles yet haha. I have been prioritizing getting the garage sorted first, looking into some race ramps and flooring next.
