Failed smog for a section 3 only (I had to go to a Star station)

Hi all,

Don't know what is happening. Already failed for aftermarket for CAI, but they didn't test and told me to put the stock one back on.

I did and went back and they time they tested and everything was fine but the failed me for the section 3. No other mods now.

I've been passing for the previous years with the same exhaust. Did something change this year now? And since I have to go to a Star station maybe they are more strict?

Went to another smog place and said the reason for the fail because I modified my cats.

But I'm confused my section 1 only had 1 resonator but I put a second one. Are they getting confused thinking that is modified cat?

Aren't the cats on this car at the header right?

All good now.

Had to find a good video to show where the cats are on this car so they could find it. They were confused thinking my modified section 1 with two resonators were the cats and didn't see the o2 sensors and dungs. Took him like 5 minutes to confirm though but damn.

I feel your pain. One guy almost failed me as well because he couldn't see any cats under my car either. I had to pull back the heat shield under the hood to show him where the cats are. There was also another shop that was trying to claim my E92's cats were aftermarket and the two resonators were in place of the old cats that I had deleted.... You would think these techs would have diagrams made available to them before they fail people left and right. I think because there are so many modified cars in SoCal, they assume all tuner cars have illegal mods.
