Do you guys want to create a WhatsApp chat for these drives/meetups? I have a track chat that helps me coordinate with friends/acquaintances in the area, for example. I don't check this thread much, let alone get on the forum.

Subscribed, new member here from Winston-Salem. I have a 2003 M3 coupe that I'm finally starting to enjoy again, hopefully I can make it out for a drive sometime.

    Hello NAM3Forum SE crew.
I'm going to replicate CaseDeMasa's drive from 2023 drive Sept 13th (Saturday) with a colleague. He drives an Audi RS5 but I won't hold that against him
We'll do the whole track as it was done in 2023 except we'll start in Hight Point / Winston Salem area as that is where we live. We'll head on over to the Hamptonville Park and Ride location and be there at 9AM the rest of the rally is as it was in 2023:
Meetup location: Hamptonville Park & Ride @ 9:00AM Saturday Oct 21.
Leg 1: Hamptonville P&R to McGrady's Grocery to ALVIN EATZ Damascus, VA | 2 hr 17 min | 96.5 miles
Leg 2: ALVIN EATZ to Southern Scoops & Sandwiches, Jefferson NC | 1 hr 9 min | 43.0 miles
Leg 3: Southern Scoops to Sparta, NC | 38 min | 27.4 miles
Full loop of above legs: Hamptonville P&R to Damascus, VA to Jefferson NC to Sparta | 4hr 12 min | 167 milesI know this is short notice but if anyone is interested in joining, feel free.
Comment down below, rain or shine, me and the RS5 are going.

I'd be down. Car is finally getting some TLC and will be drivable again soon.

Is there a way to do a mass communication notification on this forum? Or would another channel (WhatsApp, etc.) be better suited?

That's right. I'm in Charlotte. Need to hit you up at some point since I pass through there a good bit.

Longer answer, I'm playing a bit of catch up on life in general. Recently had some things to care for in my personal life that completely shut down "hobbies" and everything else. I'm happy to organize another one (truly!) but need a bit more time to clear the fog and catch up on stuff.

EDIT: apologies for the delay. Just realized you posted exactly 1 month ago to the day. Reference aforementioned fog 😁
I'm happy to hear you are in! No rush in any way.
Another thought is, what if we do a short impromptu meat up/drive, who ever is in is in, just a quick afternoon, shoot the breeze, plan a bigger meetup in person and so on, I'd be down .... to help clear the fog . Just a thought.

Do you get up to Blacksburg much these days?

One of my good friends and I (he also did undergrad there) attempt to visit at least 1x/year and drive local roads in our M cars. Typically plan a weekend out of it.

We lucked out with the weather. It was a perfect autumn day. We'll for sure do more of these and I know what you mean about large drives. Been on some multi-day rallies with 65+ cars and it can become cumbersome at times.

For sure more to come on this.
    VT grad as well?
