Is there such a thing as an affordable, yet impactful diff upgrade? Would love to drop the $4-5k on an OS Giken/ Quaife/ Drexler, but it's not in the budget (need to replace coilovers). Is there a clutch kit that will improve the M Variable on track or is it a case of buy once, buy right spend the money on the $5k diff?

If you can track down a 210mm (large) clutch style differential from an E34 or E39 M5, 750IL, etc. and upgrade the old clutches, either replacing the worn clutches with a service kit like this (https://racingdiffs.com/products/bmw...33470781292679) or upgrading to extra clutches with something like this (https://racingdiffs.com/products/bmw...33470781325447) you'll be in business. If you look on eBay there’s a guy in Spain that’s selling a rebuild ZF unit for less than $1k. My buddy bought one. Took forever to get delivered (customs) but it made it. The tough part has been sourcing the axle stubs. Ended up cutting down 2 long E46 M3 stubs.Comment
