    Track event websites

What websites are you using to find track days?

    I'm using:
    Motorsprtreg
    Clubregistration.net
    Trackrabbit
    Trackshaker

    Are there others?

MSR, and past registration lists with BMWCCA, PCA and SCCA. There seems to be no shortage of sponsors emailing with invitations.

I usually go to the track’s website and check the calendar.

      Here are some TX orgs

      The Driver’s Edge
      Apex
      Chin Track Days
Edge Addicts (run at your own risk)

The usual PCA, NASA, SCCA. BMWCCA is mostly dead in TX. Mostly a bunch of stupid drives nowadays. Plus, BMW’s are the ultimate soccer mom SUV so HPDEs really don’t fit.

          Thanks guys!

My issue with the "for profits" are that they generally only offer 2 day events. Driving from Iowa to Texas, NY, or anywhere in between isn't really worth it when I can find 3 day club events.

Email lists I'm already on only help me for tracks and clubs I've already been to, they won't get to places like flat rock, G2, or Hedge Hollow

IF...you want to come run at 2 day event at MSR Houston, I could probably get you on track the Fri before if there's nothing else going on. I'm sure that if it draws in some new business, a DE org would try and work with you. At least Driver's Edge and PCA might help.

This won't work on bigger non-member type tracks like COTA and Road America.

              I appreciate that!

That's the nice thing about non-member tracks though, it's easier to find 3 day events in them. Places like G2, MSR Cresson, eagles canyon, Barber, etc don't offer 3 day events very often at all

Drivers Edge can get you on Cresson and ECR on a Friday in most cases. Let me know if you plan to sign up
for an event and I’ll see what I can do.

what part of Iowa are you at?

In the past HMRC has had Friday TnT sessions for 2 day events. We usually do that when we make the drive there as well.

                    Basically Des Moines

Cresson 3.1 is one of my favorite tracks I've ever been to, so much fun. My buddy Alex Richards lives in Dallas and knows Cody from apex so he's always offered to get us on at places but it's just not worked out yet. Alex keeps coming north to do events with us instead

I did the 3.1 with edge addicts on a Monday back in....... 2019 maybe. That was after leaving the Lonestar BMW 3 day event at Hallett though. 4 straight days of track was pretty cool and also made it worth driving farther south to Dallas for MSR. Aex said the 1.9? is always rented out to the exotic drive program so the 3.1 isn't offered very much and hardly ever for a 3 day event. I've always looked at doing ECR but maverick pca is who I mostly see there and they kinda screwed my group over a few years back so I put them on the back burner.

Look at www.thedriversedge.net. They run two day events at ECR, MSR 3.1, and MSR Houston. I'm not 100% sure MSR Houston is worth the drive. Its a fun layout but the paddock is...I've nicknamed it the landfill...lol. But the track itself is fun.

If you can get on as an instructor, they will usually let you run as much as you want with other groups. Just don't be a dick. Let me know if you need some help, Rick, the owner, is very skeptical of outsiders claiming stuff and for good reason.

Everyone is sceptical to some extent, trust me, it's warranted and necessary though. As MSF level 3, and an instructor since 2007 I can hold my own I think.

From the videos I've seen, MSR Houston looks like a shit hole. Sorry I don't sugarcoat..... Either way, it's flat AF, looks rundown, and appears to lack any sort of "wow" factor. All that being said, I actually would like to do one event there. It really reminds me of my home track (i29 Speedway, race park of the midlands, mam, I can't keep all of its name's straight) because of all the things I said above. This is why I drive hours to places like NCM, Ozarks, Mid-Ohio, the Glen, cota, etc, etc, etc
