F This Fan Shroud

I am so tired of working through the puzzle (for me) that is removing the fan shroud (Item 2) and the other plastic parts called air ducts (Items 3 and 4). Usually I'm pretty good at sequential tasks, but this one frustrates me beyond no end.

Part of the issue that complicates removal (with the carbon intake I have) is the driver side air duct (#3) getting in the way. I have it trimmed, but I kept what I could, presuming this duct is part of the overall solution for keeping temps down.

Does this matter on a track car? How much of this stuff can I ditch? (I"m not trusting ChatGPTs answer)

I’m not sure how well your car configuration compares to mine so take this with a grain of salt. I had issues with cooling in the summer events here in the Midwest. Referring to your diagram, not only have I removed part numbers two, three, four, five, but I have also removed the mechanical fan and the AC to improve airflow and use hood vents on my car. No more cooling problems.

foolio - do you have an electric fan (E.g., a SPAL)? Hood vents are in the plan eventually, but at the moment, this car is cooling just fine even in (very) high ambient temps at VIR. I don't want to screw that up...

Edit: corrected something I misunderstood...Foolio - my A/C, condenser, OEM auxiliary electric fan are all out. I have a 2 year old OEM radiator and OEM oil cooler.

No clutch fan. I have not added any electric fan in addition to the stock electric fan. Just to be as complete as possible, I also do not run the traditional engine coolant. Just distilled water and water wetter. However, that was one of the first things I changed when I was having cooling issues and I am not sure how much it helped. I did not get enough data on that alone before I did all the other changes. Also, since I was not specific, when I say I removed the AC, I removed everything, most notably the condenser to improve airflow across the radiator (which is stock).

Take it off once. There’s radiator hose that goes through the shroud. Get a dremmel and cut off the corner that requires removing the hose. There are still enough mounting points. Next time it’s a non issue.

I don't have #4 and #5 - #2 shroud has an electrical fan mounted to it, and is screwed in with 3 torx screws, I'm pretty sure I left the one by the headlight out. Takes 2 min to take out.

If I follow, you mounted an aftermarket electric fan in the OEM shroud. I’ve only seen the SPAL setup (without using OEM #2)

I'm using a SPAL 30101516, Tulay wired it on a relay off the radiator hose outlet temp sensor and a switch in the cabin. You can also use the aux fan controller to power it. Not the best picture but will give you an idea. I bolted the top two mounting points directly to the shroud, the bottom I used the SPAL mounting brackets and cut them to fit.

I have no fans and deleted the shroud. If you plan to keep the puller fan then best to keep the shroud.
