    RTD shifter boot

For those with a RTD shifter, what are you using as a boot?
Mine is not currently sealed from the trans tunnel which is no good.

So it seems people use a trimmed stock boot turned upside down.
We tried that and didn't really like it.

Going to give this a shot

I used the stock boot when installing an rtd on my car. The only cut I made was for the one bolt hole(sliced a split at that part). Sorry no photos, but I put some soap on the boot, slid it onto the shifter and then was able to wedge the boot into place on the trans tunnel before bolting the shifter in. I didn't have to flip the boot upside down, and it seals well the way I have it.

EDIT: This was on an e46 though, just noticed you have an e36...not sure how different the boot is.

I got a rubber boot from a miata, trimmed it and installed it upside down. I need to replace the shift knob, that thing gets hot in the summer.

I believe this was the one. It needed some trimming with tin snips but I've been happy with it.
