Hi, I'm installing a CSL airbox with Alpha N this winter. Is this needed? What is the Bosch 0261230101 number you mention?

If your going with alpha N then this is not needed. The Map Sensor management version is the same as on the original CSL, and the drivability smoothes is better if your are running original style setup with map sensor.Alpha N tunes have come a long way since the beginning and are pretty close in terms of drivability to the original style map sensor setup, main benefit of alpha n is less parts needed, parts being this kit and map sensor which is usually around $40 online so roughly extra $100 in parts If you live in higher elevation than I would definitely recommend Map sensor conversion as the dme will have better actual atmosphere readings and will adjust for optimal engine performance better compared to Alpha N where it’s will only rely on preset tables that are pre-loaded onto dme instead of actual atmospheric readings.
