WTB: Anyone Got Rod Bearings Laying Around?

Can be WPC-Treated, VAC, or BE Bearings.

Full price for these at vendors is ridiculous so trying here or will otherwise wait for an opportunity.

Are ACL acceptable to use? Never thought of them until you bringing them up.

Seems so. Haven't seen one issue. I did wpc treaded oe last time, but would go with ACL standard this time, unless I find a reason not to.

No offence but what price would you expect on here relative to retail whether it be oem or aftermarket? If something is worth a certain amount (current retail price) then I don’t see why anyone would give it away for much less than that. My advice is get the ones you want from a reputable dealer, I don’t see how you’ll be able to get them cheap no matter how long you wait.

surprisingly there are a lot of car enthusiasts that will buy a car, pile up some project items, and then sell the car before installing them. often times they're willing to sell leftover parts at a discount just to be rid of them

i've picked up a lot of cheaper items like oil filters and suspension parts at a decent discount that way, but nothing as expensive as bnib rod bearings

I have a set... no fancy coatings, lightly aged 75k, with a hint of wear on cylinder 6

On a serious note, FCP has good options with new OE or ACL.

You’re mostly right but sometimes people have these things laying around for jobs they never get to.

Best bet would be going ACL and not waiting till they raise their prices ;-)

                        WPC > ALL

                        Race proven.

Order from Turner Motorsports because ECS Tuning takes FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

OP you’re saving, maybe $250 (vs BMW OE, I’m not even talking about the level of effort if you DIY twice), but taking a $6-10k gamble on the engine. Math don’t add up. Just saying.
                          Just some old shitty cars.

There are some really detailed threads related to ACL on m3cutters. Gave me a pretty good comfort factor along with folks here.

                              WPC manufactures bearings?

On that logic, OP could pick himself up a set of ACL's and sent them to WPC for coating and likely still be well in the $
