Gear position switch smg

Have a GPS sensor for sale. Bought it from Kaiv originally but decided to do a 6spd swap. $80 + 7 shipping. Located in SoCal.

Hello, can you please explain to me what this is exactly, I’m new to E46’s and my smg shifter seems like it’s off or goes to far to right, knocks off the center panel it sits in

Hey there, not sure what you are experiencing but it doesnt sound like this is your issue. The part I'm selling is for when your smg starts skipping gears altogether.

your issue sounds more like the shift mechanism is busted inside or the screws holding the base down are loose, easy to check those.

The SMG Gear Position Sensor is the part mounted at the tail of the tranny, and it provides the angular position (R, 1st/2nd, 3/4, 5/6 gates and odd or even gears) of the tail shift rod (actuator) to the SMG controller.
