I will end up getting all new chrome eventually if I like how it looks. Currently restoring all the trim to OEM to see if I like it, if I do, i will get them new. Don't want to purchase them new on the off-chance that i might go back to my black trim.

Wouldn’t buying them new and if no like, selling for almost new price end up being the same thing?

There are no deals on like-new original parts for our cars in 2024. We are lucky to be able to buy most trim pieces from BMW (quality being inconsistent for some) for not such crazy prices still. That will get a lot worse soon - both prices and parts being NLA. Get them while you can…
