One option is to buy a newer version and cap the vacuum nipple off.

Yes, I considered this but I decided to give it a try and find a pre-2004, the newer version available on eBay for $90 and free shipping, so it will be plan B If I cannot find one.

Isn't pre-LCI this one? ECS says for models up to 09/2004. If so, I have one.
