I need help ordering a new rear bumper, and it looks like the non-pdc is superseded with the PDC rear bumpers. My local dealer told me there's 3 non-pdc rear bumper in the whole nation, but they can't guarantee if they order it, I will get the correct one and it's non returnable. They were saying the stockton distribution center got one which is the closest to me in Oregon. What are my chances to get the correct one if I order it? maybe someone on the inside can give me a suggestion haha

Your dealer should be able to submit a parts support ticket case with BMW and have them confirm stock of the non-supersession in that Stockton warehouse. If they also submit a case asking for the non-superseded part number BMW should be able to supply it. They don’t typically want obsolescence on their shelves.

They are being lazy, you can absolutely request the previous part number, I just did that with some wagon bumpers. Find a new dealer or go to the next person in charge.'09 HP2S, '12 R12GSA, '00 Black 323iT, '02 Alpine 325iT (Track Wagon), '02 Alpine 330iT

It’s laziness. I worked for BMW NA and work for an OEM now. They have the ability to handle this type of request. It’s just the person that helped you is lazy or the manager has put a lazy team in place. Maybe try calling one of the large online BMW parts distributors that are run by dealers like GetBMWParts and see if they can help?

I totally agree it's laziness. I have sent getbmwparts an email (no phone) about it, and I called bmwpartsdeal, they straight up told me we can only order the superseded part#, then told me to contact my local dealer for my specific request. So I'm guessing most counter parts employees are perhaps being trained this way, it totally make sense if it was mechanical parts, but then I wonder what happen to the superseded body parts that are left?Last edited by avusblue; Yesterday, 12:26 PM.
