Better is a bit subjective. They're different. I have the AS Autocross version and it's definitely better than stock, especially with the tall weighted knob. The RTD is even more precise and has much shorter throws but with that comes more effort. If my car was a weekend car or just a track car I probably would not have switched. I had the stock rubber boot installed with the RTD and didn't feel any extra heat. I've had the AS kit on the shelf for several years and I finally decided to make the switch partly because the RTD needed some maintenance (just lubrication) and also I wanted the car more daily driver friendly. Plus I'm old
