An affordable big brake kit for the E46 M3!
Up for sale is a set of Brembo brake calipers from a Porsche 996. Genuine Brembo calipers that were made in Italy. These calipers are commonly used as a BBK upgrade on E46 M3s, for improved braking performance and reduction in unsprung weight, while maintaining a similar brake bias to stock.
Part numbers
• 996.351.426, 996.351.425, 996.352.422, 996.352.421
The conversion requires, at a minimum
• Caliper adapter brackets – front & rear, from Rally Road or Creations Motorsport
• ZCP rotors – front (rear ZCP rotors are not required)
• Brake lines – front & rear, from Rally Road or Creations Motorsport
• Caliper milling – front, can be done by any machine shop or Rally Road
• Brake fluid of your choice
Optional items some people go for
• ZCP rear rotors (same size as non-ZCP, but drilled)
• Caliper rebuild/refinish with paint or powder coating
• Caliper rebuild
• New bleeder valves
• 987 Boxster front pads for the rear calipers if you are running Rally Road rear brackets (no rust ring, full rear rotor contact)
• Track/performance brake pads
The total cost to pull this conversion off is about $2k at a minimum (including $800 for calipers). There is a wealth of information on this forum about this conversion.
This set has 156k miles, so a rebuild is recommended before install. Centric (StopTech) caliper seal kits run about $25/caliper. However, all pistons move freely, no seals are blown and no dust boots are torn so they are functional as-is. Paint is faded and there is some brake dust residue throughout. Scratches/scuffs in the paint throughout as well. You can sand them down and spray them with caliper paint, or have them professionally powder coated. No major gouges or damage to any of the caliper castings. Nice quarantine project to redo the calipers.
Rear crossover lines have been flipped from left to right and vice versa – this is required to install these on a BMW.
I will include a set of pads, caliper hardware, pad dampers and 3 sensors for free. Pads are about 50% worn. Dampers have some pad backing material stuck to them. Since all this stuff is free, working condition is not guaranteed.
Asking $OLD for the set of 4 calipers. Shipping is $40 within the US. Local pickup in Fairfax, VA available. I accept cash or PayPal.
