Entertaining thread at the beginning then turned weird with someone talking about a girl's car... anyway, £22k for the 112k CSL then £25k for my 102k miler

It's worth what anyone will pay. I wouldn't sell mine, I couldn't find another daily that would make me smile as much. I love my car so much, best car I've had.

The only vert I've had is E30 325. E46 M3 vert is not my cup of tea but each to their own. I drive mine every day in all weathers, flippers need attention, wheels need refurb but who sees them when I drive past!

I bought mine to drive, enjoy and beat depreciation in the process!

e90 M3 - didn't rate it at all on test drive. 2011 DCT (non-edc). Realllllly wanted to buy one... until i drove it.

Are csl parts harder to find now?
Different cars, e90 is a 4 door family car that is CSL fast (or faster) in a straight line, skids for England and has the best engine BMW have ever put in a 3 series. For track use CSL is better sure, for everyday road use I'd rather have an e90. For a sunny day car only removing the daily driver part of the equation then CSL makes a better case for itself but to make it quick on track you make it worse on the road to the point where long journeys are tiresome.

I did 6.5 hours in a CSL recently for a mate, the B roads at the end of the journey it was awesome, the rest of it an e90 with EDC set to comfort would've been just as fast, more comfy and far better tech.

Maybe I'm just getting old

Anyway, e90 M3 can be had a lot cheaper than CSLs, selling mine at the moment and would take 17.5k for it  Could have an e90 M3 and a track prepped e46 for the same money as a CSL...

I do think the e90 takes longer to "get" though, a test drive doesn't reveal it's talents as readily as a CSL does.

Not a bad idea Rob I did think about that the other day if the GTR sells. I thought about £5k would fit a roll cage, seats and poly bush the car so its a possibility. My csl just had a new vanos and going great so it would be a good base. But it's a lot of money tied up in a track car.

Just feels its a bit of a waste hopefully pick up a well sorted E46 and have some cash to do track days. I think "TRACK M3"red m3 would have been ideal. I wouldn't care if panels got dented on a track car but the csl has all original panels no dings or dent.

                Go on Derek:thumbs:

Rear Cage just as effective as full cage and also avoids carving up the dash.

                (keep the interior!)

You could reverse the work with no harm done if you decided to sell.

Plus you'd have a few goodies to sell on to the forum!!

It's what the CSL was designed to do mate

I know but the csl should have been sold with cage and harnesses same as GT3. If I got a sorted e46 track car it should be better than csl and fraction of cost and I wouldn't care if I binned it.

Personally, if I wanted a track car, I'd buy a cheap E46 M3, throw out the interior, fit BBK and suspension, rather than modify a CSL. Must be nearly doable for under 10 grand by now ?

Then you don't really have to worry about wrecking it either.

You sound like you belong on the "cutters" forum :blalalala:.

CSLs are designed for the track - pointless having one just as a garage queen :gayfight:.

At the last BMW car club track day at Snetterton, they had E36 / E46 M3 full on race-cars with slicks. The CSL scalped them all :hahaha: :supz:.

That says more about those specific cars and drivers than it does about anything else

Yeah like Nathan said, I can comfortably stay with some CSL's, most are a good battle, get the odd few like Shimmy, 83SY that are just silly quick :hahaha:

I agree with Derek well sorted M3 you will be as capable for a lot less money and not worried about denting it. 2nd hand market is ridiculously busy for them right now

Ah, the old CSL Register double standards . When a "Cutter" insinuates that a stripped out standard M3 is as good as CSL they get ripped to shreds, but when a CSL Register member says the same, it is suddenly true :blalalala: . Does not compute :clown:.
