Thought I recognised it as yours. Not had much luck this year

            What were the symptoms?

They told me no BMW supply and original manufacturer may have to retool :banghead:

Tappety noise, on investigation no.6 cam showing some wear and flat spot on rocker arm. Bit sad considering engine only done 8k. Someone has been waiting 12 months for a cam and I was told they should be another 3 but still waiting for confirmation. Elms are stripping the top end down and I will lock the car away in my garage for as long as it takes. Heyho.

Hmm, could the oil cooler have been the issue all along? Wonder if it was blocked and restricting flow preventing proper oiling of the cam lobes. Seems very odd that two separate engines have gone in the same way when installed in the same car. Suggest like it might be an issue with an external system.

Yip sounds like it could have been not sure if they cleaned all the parts after the first engine went it could have contaminated the oil pipes and cooler

Yes I have been having that conversation with Elms. Regarding the followers, Elms were changing them as well.
