Gave the car a run this morning to work, it's been sat since last Sunday, usually this was the time it slurred like a bastard and I was quite aprehensive this morning, now even from cold clutch is sharp as a pin, sorted! :smokin:
Let's hope they stay sharp dan, mine and yours being new.I have a feeling the sluring may come back in time, athough some CSLs stay sharp.

I hope so too Brett and agree the slur will probably rear it's ugly head again in time!

Question for you mate, since the new clutch are you lifting on upshifts, at all ever in any circumstance?

When I spoke to Andy at Murketts he said not to lift as the car should be doing it for you, I've not lifted since it's been done whereas I was before!

ive had two, both under goodwill not warranty

first at about 45k miles and second about 70k miles. Paid half labour only authorised by BMWUK as clutch was not worn just slipping.

Second one i could have pushed i believe an dgot free under warranty of original replaced clutch as i had two years warranty on the part as it was goodwill, but i cose to take goodwill again as then i get another two years warranty on the clutch.

How many miles has the clutch done? If less than 50k miles i seriously doubt it is worn by normal use and either push for replacement or get independant assesement. My cltuch at 45k miles they said was knowhere near worn out (i know i am a very sympathetic driver though :smokin:

Mine had done 60k Steve and when they took it out, it would have done another 60k.So they replaced plate and flywheel under warranty.Dan has just had his done,i think his milage is the same as yours.

Mine was changed at 35k ish under warranty. Clutch had just about new thickness, no wear at all. Steve, I doubt very much yours is worn out. Can you go and see it yourself and measure it? I'm sure someone here will know new plate thickness for you to check it against.

They come with 2mm when new and if its not under 1.1mm then they should change it under warranty.
