    *EDIT*

just googled T60 and this came back..

April 2013 The criteria for reporting motorists who exceed the speed limit have changed slightly. Police Officers at the road side will now either verbally warn or report the motorist for the offence by issuing them with a Traffic Offence Report (form T60) The report is sent to Hampshire Police Central Justice Unit where a decision will be made whether to offer the offender a place on a Driver Awareness Course or issue a fixed penalty

LOOKS like it's not so bad...

What did we do before Google ????!!!!!
Did they put the speed on it? If so, looks like you really talked yourself out of a large fine and court appearance with just a fixed penalty - lucky git :supz:!

If they really liked you and didn't record the speed, then you will be bored to tears in a DA course, but no points (but the course is more expensive than the fixed penalty).

If you go down the route of the "It's a garage door opener officer" - they may well come to your house and want to see it working, if it doesn't work and they wish to follow it up, you can end up in a whole world of trouble, so the moral of the story is, buy the blocker that will also open your garage door.

I'm not going to say too much on a public forum, but "A friend of mine" has been caught twice at the kind of speed that would result in a court appearance / loss of license. On both occasions he was incredibly polite, didn't lie (but didn't admit anything either), was on a straight piece of motorway with no other cars in sight and managed to get away with a warning on both occasions. Should also add that both occasions were a short blast of about 10 seconds of sustained speed and then slowed down. If you treat people as you wish to be treated yourself, you won't go far wrong in life.

Yes the speed is noted, 95. Changed from the heart stopping whole lot of trouble 96mph+ after we had a chat and he talked about my car 'oh that's the special with the carbon roof and silly boot spoiler' :-D
Given a good record and the fact I am decent bloke (if treated likewise) I think I have been lucky considering.
I purchased the pocketgps by the way and am temporarily running it on my iphone before I buy a cheapo tomtom. I must admit it appears to be spot on, all the mobile units I've spotted in and around Brighton & Hove are listed as is the shit that got me on Sunday
I am serious about getting the 'garage door opener' but will make doubly sure it opens my door, either the present one or a modern roller type.
Of course I'm still to find out the outcome of my stupidity but I'm not shitting it like I have been the last few days :-D

        Cheers all

If I get caught being naughty, then my first words to the officer are "sorry officer"

Not actually admitting anything, but it starts you off on a good stance.

Was it motorway/dc or single carriageway?, If single carriageway its over 50% more than speed limit, which could mean a harsh penalty.

In the first few seconds I realised the coppers were decent so I responded likewise, and that got me the get out of court card I'm sure!

It was on a 70mph dual carriageway.

you were lucky, 26mph above the limit is the start of the 'naughty boys' speeds.

I got 6 points and £150 for doing 76mph on a motorway bend :moan: my fault of course for not seeing the camera sign:banghead:

I'm not going to donington that way again!

                      I feel your pain!

I did something similar in my E46 on the M60 going over Barton. An unmarked car had been tailing me from the M61 slip road (going anti-clock). I hold my hands up to it being a temper thing involving another driver which could have all been filmed - however I'd slowed down when the Audi passed me and all he did was flash his parcel shelf lights. It both sh*t me up and shook me up really badly, but nothing ever came of it. The fear was far worse than any fine and it would have been my own stupid fault.

I have a Valentine One radar detector but rarely use it - it has served me well in the past and is fully upgradable.

Also, I would be careful publishing speeding figures on any forum - you don't know who's monitoring them and they could be taken as an admission.

                      Stay safe.
