and yes gloss black is the base coat but you can use silver and you use much less of the sparkling glass

Strange as it sounds, it is a black base coat for Hyper-Silver, my old man has a set of BBS wheels on his Golf Anniversary.

But as Mark said Hyper-Silver is not the paint used on the CSL Wheels.

          For future reference everyone:

Lepsons (3rd party re-finishers): http://www.lepsons.com/ have said that their equivalent to the E46 CSL OEM finish is "Chrome Silver"

Can someone get a litre of this and surface ship it to me please (presuming it can't be airmailed given it's considered hazardous)

Ended up buying it from a local supplier - he had one last litre tin left and was kind enough to sell at a substantial discount to me - saved all the shipping hassles I've been having with this!! :supz:

Has anyone had their wheels refurb'd at Lepsons to Chrome Silver?
and does it look very close to the origional colour?
About to get mine done, hopefully only the once!

I've read on a German forum that paint code A55 (from BMW) is apparently also the same colour for these wheels - it was said to be information direcly from BBS itself.

My car had the two rear wheels done by them a year or so ago as I have the receipt. Must say the colour is identical to the fronts which appear to be in original paint. I am having them all done again there soon as I lightly rubbed the NSF rim on the kerb dodging a jaywalking smack head.
