Just realized this thread is what did you buy for your E36, not what did you do to it. So, today I ordered some CV boot hose clamps on Amazon, because like almost everyone I couldn't get the clamp included in the rebuild kit over the outer CV boot. I did the full rebuild job, inner and outer, using the thread on bimmerforums, where you de-crimp the backing plate on the outers to full disassemble it. Man, that job sucked! I spent like 3-4 hours last night sitting there trying to get a feel for re-installing the ball bearings on the outers. Finally got it this morning. One down, second should be much faster. Came out good though, I sanded and primed/painted the shafts with Chassis Black, nice having fresh and clean axles.

And indeed, as expected, on the second half shaft I got the outer balls seated on the first try. Amazing what difference a little practice can make.
