Thoughts on SS Resonated Midsection for S54 Swap?

Any thoughts on this? Ive been searching exhaust set up all night and think this is the best choice. I have euro headers and will have Scott at Stromung make me a muffler.

That part will not work with the S54 euro headers because the E36 M3 headers have a different connection point to the E36 mid pipe.

Since you are using S54 euro headers (60mm), you should stick to using the factory E46 M3 section 1 (preferably adding a set of HJS cats) and modifying the factory E46 M3 section 2 to connect with the Stomung muffler or any other aftermarket E36 M3 muffler, such as Supersprint. You can see in the photos on the BaT listing below that the seller cut the factory E46 M3 section 2 right after the H-pipe section 2 to make it work with the muffler. They also added the E36 mid-pipe bracket to the modified E46 M3 section 2. You want to keep the H-pipe connection as it helps with torque on the S54.

If you want maximize the exhaust flow with a full 63.5mm exhaust, Supersprint makes the entire 63.5mm custom exhaust for the S54 swap, but it is pricey - https://www.supersprint.com/ww-en/sp...onversion.aspx

Nobody has E36 Euro spec rear sections in the US because they wont fit the US car. What we can do is, build you an E36 rear section but instead of 2"diameter tubing we would special build it in 2.25". Also it would be without the flange connectors since we dont know the spec on those. The special 2.25"system would be an extra 175.00 to hand make the 2.25" pipes and take 2 weeks.

I've seen many people fit the Euro exhaust on their cars so this is frustrating to deal with.

I'm not familiar with the E36 US vs Euro mufflers other than the euro spec muffler flows better.

IIRC, this E36 S54 swap build by Kaiv in SD used an E36 M3 Supersprint muffler mated to the E46 M3 section 2 -

If you don’t have an e46 M3 section 2 handy, this may be an option, from Schmeidmann. They also have a muffler made for the euro E36 M3.

You would still have to customize/hack it to work with section one but I believe it is 60mm. They state made in Italy (maybe Supersprint makes it for them??).
