    M50/S50 manifold swap question

Is the M50 and S50 manifold the same part?

When swapping onto an S52, does it cause a loss of torque?

Do you have to add anything, or can you just run the M50/S50 manifold with all the other S52 parts (stock airbox etc.)

There were two different manifolds but both were labeled the M50 I believe, Do a search on the topic and you will find loads of threads.

Also, you will have to buy/make a conversion kit

funny how the e36 325i and 328i had a bigger intake manifold than what we got:nixweiss: . yeah it fits right in, but you need the conversion kit. a cheap upgrade (or should i say mod?) for an extra 12 bhp at he wheels. you do lose some low down torque, but allows the engine to breath easier and gives more top end power

328 has the same manifold as the s52. Only the 325(m50) and 95 m3(s50) got the larger intake manifold.

Yes, it will cause a loss in torque.

You will need to buy or create your own kit to remake the vacuum loop under the manifold.

Interesting. Not so sure that I'd want to sacrifice any torque.

i went from making 226/225(s52 mainfold) to 236/221(m50 manifold).

I can dig up the dyno's if you would like to see the curves.

Does anyone sell a more or less complete kit for the swap?

Ya there is a kit, www.bimmerworld.com 375$, you can make your own, but it wont look as good.

I dont like that drop in torque, at ALL.

Is that on an otherwise stock motor? If you have the dynos handy that would be cool, otherwise no biggy.

You also gain a good amount of gas mileage too.

How many miles to the gallon are you getting after the mod?

I'd like to see the curves if it isn't too much bother!
