I purchased this car brand new so the E36 was for me because I could afford it new and I can still afford to have the dealer work on it. My time is more valuable then the money. When I pick it up this afternoon I will ask about the check valve .

AN Indy would be ideal though. I have just found that the pricing is not much less than the dealers.

Ok. when it was new.. thats different. it's now 10 years old. i'd bet most of the guys at the dealer were in HighSchool when your car was new.

where are you located, surely someone on the regional forum can recomend one.

the dealer near me gets $150 for an oil change. Local independants get between $60-80. In my driveway it's about $35.. and done correctly.

Badgtho, You are using non-synthetic? Just found the last seven quarts of Mobil 1 15w-50 European Blend at my local Autozone. Slurged like an idiot and bought them at around $6.75 a quart. I run my oil 7-8,000 miles between changes since I do a lot of highway driving.
