Ever seen the inside of a radiator or coolant tubes after using that crap? I have, and it is not pretty. That's my opinion. Please fix the leak, don't put a bad band-aid on a coolant problem.

Beside the Tornado Fuel Saver says great things on the box as well, why don't we all have those in our cars?

No I have not. that is why I asked what was wrong with it. no one has given a reason yet, until you, and your still kinda vague. Are you saying that it will in most cases clog the radiator? I must have been realy lucky like I stated earlier. The car runs like it never happened. It will be fixed propper when I have time or when it starts using water again. I looked at this stuff like I do Fix-a-Flat. Use it when there are no other options. get where you need to go, and fix it right as soon as is possible.

I have witnessed Tornados installed, and was shown that they did not work. I put this stuff in my car and it worked just like the bottle said it would. whats your point? Are you saying tornados do work as advertised?

It coats everything, that's how it finds the leak. Coating everything is bad, bad for flow, bad for seals, water pumps, thermostats, etc. Pressure flush the system when you get it fixed and hope to hell that **** is all gone.

And my point with the Tornados was don't believe everything you read on boxes. The bars leak never tells you to completely pressure flush your system after getting the real problem fixed, I doubt it even says - get the real problem fixed.

All shit talking aside, the *proper* way to fix a head gasket leak is to replace the head gasket.

Some of these stop leak products do work. I know people that have had success with Bars, including a mechanic that has used it multiple times and found it to hold on under light use for as long as a year. Others I know have had varying experiences with it and found it to hold or lessen a leak for a few weeks, or a few months at best. You certainly can't drive the car around like one would normally drive an M3, and expect it to hold like an undamaged gasket would.

It's a temporary fix, and when you're done, you have an absolute mess on all the internal surfaces of your cooling system. Would you ever see any other adverse affects from that? Maybe or maybe not, but i'd imagine most of us would walk away from any potential M3 purchase with evidence of Bars leak being used in the cooling system. It's a viable option for a beater that you intend on junking if you have to replace the HG. But for any car I care about, I personally wouldn't touch the stuff.

Anyways, the OP first reports that after the treatment, the car is consuming about 1 pint of fluid per 3000 miles. That's about 10% of the cooling system per OCI, which is a pretty significant leak. I don't see how that would just fix itself without additional applications of the product. But after the shit show that went on in here, I do see why there would be motivation to make claims of the product working flawlessly.

The place used to be quite lively. Ahhh Ben.
