I'm looking for some of the longest lasting summer tires available. Yes, I know that the long lasting tires will have less grip than the Star Specs and equivalent tires. But I am after life, not grip. I drive almost 500 miles a week (that's 26k per year) and I just need something that lasts longer than 6 months. I live in AL and we rarely have any ice on the roads and it snows down here once every blue moon, so I'm not really in need of an all season tire.
I copied this from Calvin in another thread...
1) what size are you looking for? 245/40/17
2) whats your budget?$150 or less per tire
3) whats the primary use of the tires? DD
4) rate these items in terms of importance for you (1 through 6)
a) grip 5
b) longevity (treadwear) 1
c) wet traction 3
d) dry traction 2
e) ability to withstand heat cycles (auto-x/track events) 6
f) price 4
Suggestions?
