I am looking for a new tire 10k miles from now...everyone loves the Dunlop Star Spec but I heard they howl so I would avoid them.
Word. I picked these up last year on Ebay, but in the 235/40/17 variety

Here's a deal on the Hankook V12 Evo on Ebay

              Just played this game.

I ended up with the "new compound" Michelin Pilot Sport A/S from Costco.

Tread wear index of ...... get this ........ 500.

That remains to be seen though. But, I am willing to try it because I have reached my limit on buying tires. It reminds me of going to the dentist. I just hate doing it.

Anyone on here ran the Falken FK542's/452's (can't remember which number combo)? I've heard some good things from Suby friends with them.

Hate to say it, but buy a Honda beater. You are going to kill the M3 and your wallet with that many commuter miles a year. Better gas mileage, no maintenance besides oil changes... It'll run forever.

Also this tire is getting really good reviews.
I am seriously thinking about getting these.

I may put these tires on extra set of wheels.

I am actually running these right now. I got them put on in Feb. and they are almost at the wear bars now. That's around 10-12k miles. Decent dry traction, horrendous in the wet. Prepare to hydroplane everywhere.

I will prolly do this next year actually.

For just a little more than your $150 target, you could get Toyo T1-Rs, at least that's what they used to cost. Good tire and has held up well.
No no! The T1Rs are total crap from a performance standpoint. Absolutely zero grip. The HTRZ IIIs are in a totally different league. The latter replaced the former on our car and it is a HUGE difference.
