now take a few deep breaths, convince yourself the real danger is over, and see if people had good results with the chinese rotors. I know when i spoke to the guys at paragon a while back the chinese ones they sell for porsches have had no complaints by street drivers.

who made the best swords, etc for thousands of years? chinese metalurgy is not in the stone age.

wait, maybe toyotas dont have acceleration problems, maybe they have chinese rotors which negates all i just said.
That's the point- I'd like to know feedback from people who've used the rotors to see if they are quality pieces at all.

and fwiw, my car's got the Euro Floaters on it, so I do know what it came with. If I can buy a set of rotors for the car for a smidge over $100 vs the $300 to replace the euro rotors, don't you think I'd be interested but hesitant?

FWIW, Centric makes rotors that are dirt cheap that you can buy at NAPA. they hold up really well on track.

I ve got a friend who runs them on his 95 track car with a BBK and he's had a good year (lots of weekends) with no issues..............

i m sure you'll be fine Bimmerman with those rotors. BLANK Rotors aren t easy to mess up.........when you start getting into swiss cheesed rotors and slotted ones, there's where you want to tread lightly

Lots of opinions and recommendations in this thread, which is a good thing.

I believe Zimmerman is the OE supplier but it wouldn't surprise me if ATE supplied the original rotors that the car came with. They did basically the entire braking system including electronics.

I've been running Brembo fronts and zimmerman rears for several track weekends and DD use. The track weekends meant I used PFC 01 pads which are known to be pretty hard on rotors and I was really hauling the car down with them.

The rotors don't even seem to have developed hairline cracks yet. I've been very happy with them and will go with the same setup again next time.

        I used importrp

for 1/3 the price give em a shot. what's the worst that can happen? You get 1/4 the life out of them and are out the $25 difference and some time? If this was a control arm or some other part that could snap and send you into a wall I would be a little concerned. At HPR the worst that can happen is you get some brake fade and go into the weeds. But, you would have some warning.

I would take advantage of Bimmerworld's special on Performance Friction Direct Drives. Exceptional alternative to a BBK if you are looking for performance at lower cost. I am running that setup with Zimmerman blanks on the rear and PFC Z-rated pads all around. Really like it, quality equipment!

What is a set of pads that won't give me excessive brake dust? The set on my front wheels makes my wheels grey a day after I wash the car

Anyone ever use TMS cross drilled? or am I better off just getting Brembo or Zimmerman blanks?

Yeah I'm curious about how quick the TMS slotted eat up pads compared to blanks.

I've been running the Turner Axxis/Zimmerman package for the past two months, and they're great. Seem to be about the same performance level as stock - which if we're being honest is more than fine for street use - with way less dust. And rotors, pads, sensors, and Super Blue for $380!!!

Stock is also fine for track use as well. They won't last as long as something like the Direct Drive Rotors but they will take more punishment than you might think.
