Saw that...looks like it's missing the asc light though.
This guy has two different part numbers, one matches the asc equipped model. Sent him some questions on it.

I am not going to do your homework for you. I am certain that I could make it work. I am not certain you could. No insult, I just don't know your skills. Although I would totally expect this to be a complete plug and play issue. If you are really worried about it, then buy the same part number.Originally posted by M3n00bCluster will still work? 100%?

Where did you see that it doesn't have an ASC light? It says it's from a '98. It should have one and it looks like there's space under the ///M.Originally posted by M3n00bThanks

Although one weird thing-- I just looked it up on RealOEM and it doesn't show up. It comes up a couple places on the web, but not on RealOEM.
The seller said it was remanufactured, could it be that BMW gives it a different P/N if they sell it as remanufactured? A part number that doesn't show up on RealOEM? Does BMW even sell reman'd parts???

He said "refurbished" which probably means he wiped it down with a damp cloth. It said it was pulled from a salvage car, that is all I would give it. I have never heard of a BMW reman program, that does't mean there isn't one, but I doubt it. That one's gone now, but there are always plenty to pick from...Originally posted by henciniLooks good to me.

i have gotten remaned parts from bmw for older cars. they come with a remanufactured by bmw of north america sticker. ive only ever gotten this from mobile tradition not from the normal bmw parts network and the e36 isnt old enough yet to be in the archive yet, its more for crap i bough for my e21 323 or the e28 m535i. this was from a 528e that wouldn't run right so i bought a ecu i knew would work at like 3 times the price of elsewhere.Originally posted by enderw88He said "refurbished" which probably means he wiped it down with a damp cloth. Take it to North Hollywood Speedometer. They can either fix it, or help you get a new cluster in there with a matching mileage figure.
Other things to know:
1. mileage is not stored in the DME on these cars
2. You need a cluster with a coding plug if you're trying to update the mileage. earlier M3s (including all 1995 M3s) do not have coding plugs
3. The only way to update mileage on the older style cluster is to have North Hollywood Speedometer do it.
4. A euro 3.2 cluster is the best replacement for a broken cluster, especially with a euro 3.0 oil temp gauge and faces swapped on to it.
