    Selling a 1996 E36 M3 -MIAMI, FL

Given the market value for these cars now and considering all factors I personally think it's very fair.

Remember, it's a Turbo Dakar M3 relatively low mileage w/ a built motor. Car comes with a clean and clear Florida title.

Stock M steering wheel will be included and installed in sale for those who don't like the MOMO race wheel.

With that said new price for the car is $13,500. Do not contact me if you don't have the cash! No stories, no dreamers. I value my time so please only serious inquiries.

    1996 BMW E36 M3 Dakar Yellow II

    The Good

    - Clean Title, Clean Car fax

    - 89k original miles, Fully Built forged internal motor with only 4,000 miles, port and polished head, all new seals, gaskets, oil chain, timing chain, tensioners, belts, coated rod bearings. A very reputable shop built the motor, they are also close with the guys at Active Autowerke and their shop is nearby. Shop was in the process of remodeling so pics aren't of best quality but everything was done in a timely and orderly fashion to get a great example of a built motor.

    - CES Motorsport Headgasket with Copper spacer, 9:1 compression ratio

    - JE Asymmetric Pistons

    - Eagle Forged rods

    - ARP 2000 Head studs

    -Active Autowerke stage II turbo

-AA turbo race clutch kit (includes flywheel, pressure plate, aluminum clutch slave cylinder) switches gears like butter, no weird clunking sounds, almost feels stock yet rated to hold 700+ hp

    - Ground control coil overs

    - 18 in" BBS staggered rep wheels riding on Pilot super sports

    - Full 3 in" HKS exhaust & HKS Blow off valve (deep aggressive growl which is just right, not loud and noisy, purrs while idle & makes you giggly when you go wide open throttle)

    - Front pillar boost gauges, including wideband, fuel pressure, pyrometer, boost, fuel/air ratio

    - M50 Manifold swap

    - GReddy boost controller and turbo timer

    - Running on 8 psi for daily use but at 14 psi I was doing about 450 WHP

-$50k (as in $50,000) + in receipts, service, maintenance, mods, motor build, turbo build

-No leaks, mechanically sound, she's a bullet & bullet proof. I built her with the intentions of not having to worry in the back of my mind that something bad might happen to the motor by pushing it every now and then.

    - I've kept up with maintenance which is too much to list but can be disclosed for serious inquiries

    - No rust, as to my knowledge the car has been in sunny dry Florida for the past 15+ years

-The previous owner also had the car briefly featured in Fast n Furious in the "Scramble" scene, I also have photos of the m3 with the film crew and film scene

    The Bad

(She is not perfect- the car does have age and years so some small cosmetic details could be addressed. Also, I don't want anyone having any surprises when seeing the car)

    - Driver seat has some wear, rest of interior is pretty nice and tidy

    - Interior door panels could use some attention, passenger door panel slightly sags

    - Momo race wheel could be restored, as it has peeling on the top of the steering wheel

    - Previous owner repainted the car its original color of dakar yellow/ Overall looks great but for a hardcore enthusiast I want to note that there are minor over sprays here and there around the exterior black moldings

    - Rear window tint showing some sun wear

    - A little bit of clutch chatter due to the high performance race clutch

I've been the owner for almost 3 years and previous owner was a Mercedes Master Tech and owned the car for 10 years. I know I'm forgetting a lot more but that's what I have from the top of my head.

There are no pics, nor links to pics in your post other than a few low res photos in your garage no one would think to click on.

            You're welcome.

Funny, you point out that it's been turbo'd like it's a good thing. That type of modification reduces value, it doesn't increase it.

Replica wheels. Again, OEM wheels command more money than knock-off wheels, but nice try.

A Momo "race wheel" isn't something to brag about on a BMW. Give it up, Paul Walker is dead.

How can you claim that a respray -- which deducts value significantly -- "overall looks great" and then admit there is overspray. You should look up the definition of "oxymoron."

"race clutch." No doubt, this was a "legit build bro."

So that ensures the car has been properly maintained? The previous owner's occupation is irrelevant.

So you should spam the discussion board with your overpriced, rice'd out, overspray covered car that was at one point in time, many years ago, a respectable M3? Yea, that makes sense.

You and your car make a great example of FPFQ though.

FPFQ - Falling Price Falling Quality

When a higher end vehicle depreciates below its original target market and people with lower income can afford entry into the vehicle but can't honestly afford to maintain it properly, the quality drops significantly.

Seems like a fair enough and legit offer to me, it is what it is and nothing appears to be misleading.

The only mistake the OP made was thinking that he'd hit his target market here on m3f. And really, that's probably not his fault.

Nobody needs to be a dick about it.

So much bs here I don't even know where to start... If the car is what it says it is, then it's a bargain to someone... You couldn't build it for that...

As for mods not increasing the price, that's just stupid. Quality mods will increase the price, but probably not as much as the seller thinks. But a well sorted turbo car, will cost more than the same car without the mods...

                          Good luck with the sale.

Says the guy with real BBS Rg-r's, supercharger, 6 speed, 3.38 40%lock, Koni, H&R, UUC Swaybarrians, Stereo out the wazoo, SuperSprint, Alcantara, and lots of other unobtainium parts...lol

Richard your car is probably the only heavily modified e36 m3 that would sell quickly lol. That's just because we know your level of OCD with the build and it's a 1 owner.

You can't really compare your car to OP's.

Worth more to who? You? You think the OP's car is worth more than a stock Dakar M3 with the same mileage? What do you guys smoke on the east coast? A low mileage, well maintained, non-molested, E36 M3 will always be worth more than someone's Fast and the Furious project.

A turbo enthusiast may spend more on a turbo E36 M3, but the BMW enthusiast who wants an E36 M3 isn't going to prefer a bastardized example.
