    95 M3 Feeler

I am presenting to all of you forum members my 1995 M3 with 103,000 on the dial. It’s a 5 speed Cosmos/Champagne version with no sunroof. I am an Engineer, so I have been detailed about making this car and equally fun and reliable car. I built the car to be used for commuting with tolerance for the track, and it works excellent. I have had many compliment me for hitting that mark.

Since I purchased in 2008 (94,000 miles), I have gone through the necessary safety and common maintenance items to do run track days and autocross: cooling system, air conditioning, engine belts, clutch, transmission, brakes, battery, starter, and some of the electrical system. All of the mods listed were done at Munich Motorsport (South Windsor Connecticut), including alignment and corner balance.

I am estimating the car to be worth $10,000 (located in Metro-West area of Boston), and am asking you all of you to provide honest feedback on my estimation.

As of now, here’s the upgrades the car has:

    Brakes

Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines - Bimmerworld

    Brake Pads - EBC Yellow

    Rotors - OEM

Drum Brake Pads and Hardware – OEM

    Backing Plates - OEM

    Driveline

3.25 LSD M3 Diff (upgrade from 3.15 that was on 1995’s)

    Shock/Springs

    Coilovers - Bilstein PSS9

    Camber/Caster Plates - Ground Control

    Rear Shock Mounts - Turner

    Rear Suspension

    Rear Shock Towers - Rebuilt

Rear Shock Tower Reinforcement Plates - AKG

Rear Trailing Arm Bushing Pocket Reinforcement Plates

Rear Trailing Arm Bushings – Polyurethane 80 Durometer - PowerFlex (Purple)

Rear Suspension Subframe Bushings - Polyurethane 90 Durometer - PowerFlex (Black)

    Differential Bushings – OEM New

Rear Swaybar Reinforcement Plates - AKG

Adjustable Rear Control Arms - SPC

    Front Suspension

Front Lower Control Arm Bushings – Polyurethane Bimmerworld

    Front Subframe Reinforcements

    Engine Mounts - OEM

    Swaybars

    Turner Front/Rear Sway Bar Package

Adjustable Rear Swaybar End Links - Turner

Adjustable Front Swaybar End Links - Turner

    Wheels/Tires

    80 mm Wheel Studs

    245/40/17 Dunlop Direzza Star Specs

    Engine

    Baffled Oil Pan

    Crankshaft Scrapers

    Connecting Rod Bearings - OEM

Oil Pump Nut Weld (stock pulley nuts tend to loosen!)

    10W-60 Engine Oil

    Exhaust

    Refreshed O2 Sensor and Hangers

    Transmission

40W Gear Oil – Red Line (BMW recommends thin Auto Trans Fluid)

    Transmission Poly/Aluminum Bushings - Bimmerworld

Z3 Shifter (Longer throw = 15% throw reduction from stock M3) - OEM

    ZHP Shift Handle - OEM

    Needs:

    Headliner

Instrument Cluster rebuild - $300 from Nichol’s Speedometer

Front Bumper Lip is damaged, but everything is intact and functioning

    Rear Bumper has a scrape

Some on the rear trunk joint between the taillights, which is common.

Driver’s seat is cracked, but supportive. I figure most guys buying this car are going to put in Single Piece seats.

    I also have

1 spare set of wheels (Contour)

1 set of winter tires (Michelin Pilot Alpin Sport 215/225)

    1 full audio wiring harness

    1 Stock Radio

Please PM me with any further questions. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

^I think he's just asking us opinions on his pricing.

Mike, I think you're in the right place with your $10K assumption. Though to be honest, your pictures aren't very clear so it's tough to say. The condition of the car determines if it would be a little higher, or a little lower than that. But you're in the right range as far as i'm concerned.

I think at $10k this sells quickly assuming clean title, no rust and no stories. SoCal this is $12-13 especially with all that maint in the past 10k miles.

I'm interested in interior pics. If it is a good condition champagne interior I'd say it deserves a bit of premium.

Good to see they're back up above 10.

It does have some rust under the trunk. Maybe or maybe not an expensive fix depending on how much there is and where. No VIN on the trunk, so it's had at least some paint work. Looks like a nice car though. Not a huge deal if it was done right.

I'm a lux hater, but maybe it's not fair to take points off for that. It does look to be in decent shape, and looks to have 4 rear Contours with it.

Takes some pictures as if you own the car. What are we supposed to say when you don't even open the door for an interior shot?

              A lux 95 isn't that desirable. You're in the ballpark I suppose.

I think 10K is right at the top of what its worth IMHO. The maintenance is great but lux, 95 and champagne are all drawbacks for me.

After re-reading, I might retract the 12-13k comment. Missed the rebuild of shock towers and the busted front seat. Those plus all the poly says the last 8k miles have been hard ones. No big deal for someone who plans to track as a primary intent. But for a DD occasional track, could be a problem. Headliner and cluster will DQ any non-enthusiast as well.

I agree with the $10K and the car will sell fairly quickly.

Just remember that a seller says 10 and the buyer is thinking 9.

I'd probably put it up for $11K, maybe fix a few of the issues, and settle for $10K or a little over...the money you spend fixing the headliner or cluster will probably be a 1:1 on your return, but one less issue they'll have to see and makes it a little more marketable.
