Yeah I know. That'll happen. I just have it up on jacks and am worried about the damaging or warping the frame. The more money the job costs the more I have to budget and the longer the car will be up. It just makes me nervous.

Try searching on here for a post of a DIY electric aux fan replacement, it's easy to replace but the wiring is a bit tricky if I remember correctly?

ECS also has a direct replacement for $99

Oh sweet!! Thank you! Any where I can save a little. I was looking at kits for the electric fan which would be pretty cool. I am not good with electrics but I definitely want to weigh all my options. I would prefer the electric set up. The previous owner replaced the thermostat and thermostat housing because he was having issues with the aux but it turns out it was seized anyways. The issue I have with the clutch driven fan delete mod is that I cannot remove the fan clutch. It is seized in there. I can remove the fan off the the clutch with the 3 or 4 bolts that it attaches with or I can remove the water pump but I cannot remove the clutch from the water pump even with special tools.

It's reverse threaded just in case you didn't know.

              Seriously

OP, you'll have to learn to site-surf for the best prices. Typically ECS and FCP have the best prices and shipping for our cars. I personally like FCP a little more lately. Recently ECS's customer service has been declining. They used to have the cheapest prices but I think FCP is slowly taking that crown now. The other big thing I like about FCP is that they list whether something is Genuine, OE, OEM, or aftermarket.

For example, VDO makes the Aux fans for these cars, and FCP has them listed appropriately as OEM. Huge price difference when essentially the difference is a mold with the BMW emblem on it or just having it scraped off.

Yeah I know. That is not the issue.

Gotta be careful with the OEM/OE/Genuine designation. The perfect example is the Behr expansion tanks. Behr is an OEM supplier but Behr branded products are shit.

You're correct...the actual product box says limited lifetime warranty...here's mine still in box scheduled to install next month when it gets cooler.
