"...and the damn bumper isn't even covered."

LOL.. very true. Yup $10K. I didnt get into a wreck or anything.. that insurance probably would have covered. It was an unfortunate misshift... grrr... never knew you could do that much damage in half a second. I thought I had just bent the valves and that was it.. but turnes out I cracked the pistons also.. But damn 10k.. doesnt that seem a little high? I'm sure labor itself will be at least 3k, but what the f*uck do they have to replace? They just said its better to replace the whole engine. Anyone know what all this includes.. block.. head..valves.. **** the rest they could just tear of the old engine.

I feel your pain. I live in Denver, and we got our first snow about 6 weeks ago. $12,000 and I won't get the car back until next year. Insurance is covering it (minus 1 grand deductible) but the circumstances definately warrant some new mods. I'm thinking a stage I supercharger Maybe...

Were you riding on the Michelin sport tires? At the first hint of snow those should come off and snows get put on. What exactly was damaged? Doesn't look bad from the pictures (unless the paint was scratched.)

yeah they were the sports.. well the shop hasn't given me a call yet.. but really right now its what ya see is what ya get.. the front bumper will need replaced (has around 6 ot 7 cracks in it) and then the foglights, and fenderwells.. but no damage to the body other than the bumper.. right now im just waiting to hear back about the undercarrige.. as long as that is ok, then it should be all good...

no word yet.. this place is really really really backed up.. but i don't trust anywhere else.. the owner of kelly bmw (kelly marsh) recommended this place because he has used them before and they are the best.. and thats all i give my baby is the best.. they only do germans (ONLY).. plus i don't need to be driving her through the winter.. so its gonna be awhile.. i looked at the car really close... there was no structural damage at all.. if anything is damaged, its the front driverside tire.. other than that.. i got airborn.. so the parts that will need replaced at the bumper, some wires, and maybe the front left rim (maybe outta round)... but other than that i was extremely fortunate.. if uve ever looked underneath the car, ull notice that the front swaybar hangs really low.. it doesn't have a scratch.. so im feelin pretty confident.. its still going to be a nice 1500$ fix (thats what im assuming).. ill keep ya up to date though.. when i hear about the cost and damage, ull be the first to hear about it..
