Hawk- The Shark In. is basically data you download into the car's computer. The fuel maps are preset for your particular year/make/model. As for the times you'd see... Who knows? I've read a lot of articles that have cars all tricked out and only pick up .02 sec off their respective 1/4 miles. Same ole sh.. Who's driving, what weather, what mods do you have. My 98' m3 sedan runs 14.0/1/4 mile, 0-60 in 5.5 stock. I'd like to think I'm a little better now??? Do you have any mods?

am trying to decide what mods to do, best bang for the buck. It just seems the exhaust, intake and chip would be the first/ easiest. The question is which ones to get. I just don't want to increase the exhaust dB too much, so I am really reluctant to do it. I understand the UUC is really loud even thugh it seems to be the best. Stock the car performs great for my needs, but like my dad always taught me, you could never have enough HP. I know what you mean about mods though. I love reading mags that have these ruf Porsches, Braubus MBZ etc, that have an extra 50-100 hp and double the pricew and the 0-60 speeds are slower than the fastest time I find in motor trend or something. :banghead:
Anyway, so back to the original question, is the Shark Injector in place of the aftermaket chip, or in addition too. What kind of HP gain do you get out of it alone? Thanks for the help.

The Shark Injector is a downloadable version of a performance chip. I had one of his chips in my old 325i(1993) and it worked very well--better response--no flat spots etc--but when the car hit 100K+ miles, it started pinging with the chip on 93 gas. After looking for vacuum leaks, bad detonation sensors etc, I took the chip out. If you put a chip or injector in, I recommend using a carbon removal chemical regularly(ie Techron, BG44K).
