Yet another UUC post talking about shipping/delivery issues. I think there are some general themes to be learned.
1. Look for Dealers first if they have it in stock
2. If you order it from UUC directly, expect to wait regardless of what UUC may say (they are famous for their "2 weeks".)
3. Cancel your order and look for other alternatives
4. UUC does a very poor job on judging availability (due to what ever reason - other manuf, machine failures, and demand).
This has been ongoing and have not seen any improvement. If it's due to demand (which is great for business) then necessary steps need to taken in place to meet the demand or simply POST on your website (backordered - delay may extend beyond 2 monhts). I'm sure their demand will then be more controllable. We however, can not confirm their demand numbers or business successes since they are not a public company.
5. UUC does post on public forums to comment and help out the general user community, however they tend to be over-sensitive to criticism. Public forums are here to share ideas/opinions, either positive/negative. We understand the risk of incorrect/misleading posts but that is the side effect for public forums.
Information sharing is KEY to making an informed consumer decision. People need to research and get other user feedback without any tainted/biased opinions or "infomercial posts."
Public feedback typically creates awareness that hopefully leads to change (i.e. improving availability by increasing production, man power, new equipment, and mult-source manufacturers).
UUC = Ultimately Unavailable Components
Time to step up to the plate..
Just as I said before. I haven't even dealt with UUC and now am scared....and if they are going to tell me it's my choice and loss? What a way to shoot an attitutive response to "respected" customers.
someone around my neighborhood has a uuc tse exhaust for $450 w/ 3500 miles on it... he said he didn't like the sound and rather have the stock one on.... good deal?
i just ordered uuc pullies.. the black instock ones. so lets see how long it takes to get here. i also ordered tme and red mounts and clutch stop v2 and clutch bushings. the last two understeer had em in stock.
Ron I really really like the quality of the items you make. I have your evo III kit and love it. now even the my friends M3 shifter feels so loose. hehe and it took 3 weeks to get... a little longer than expected but i was well kept in the lope by mperformance. I hope this order will be the same.
They aren't in stock - those were the E46 ones that were in stock, or at least thats what Rob told me last week. He also said that the E36 ones were shipping by Fri, but according to my oreder status they are still backordered and unbilled. I am calling today, if they aren't shipped I'm cancelling my order. I think I'm going to check out the Jim C pullies he is working on.
[Baccording to my oreder status they are still backordered and unbilled[/B]
That doesn't change until your order actually ships out. UUC leaves items in "backorder" status on their site until they have enough stock to fill all existing backorders plus additional product to fill future orders. They may very well have enough pulleys being packaged up to fill existing orders, but the status will continue to show "backorder" until they have shipped all those existing orders.
i think i'll just buy uuc stuff from understeer from now!!
I paid for the tmes on the 6th and already got a track number from chris today 9th. i think thats fast. and im guessing its shipping directly from UUC? thanks for the fast service chris!!
Actually this one was just good timing, UUC was back in stock (for now anyways) on Red TME Packs as of this morning. I did order 5 sets for my own stockpile too though
Well I would think they would bill my cc and that hasn't happened yet so...
Tell ya what this is all so ridiculous anyway I'd rather just deal with someone else at this point. I've cost myself more money in my time than the damn pullies cost.
I've cost myself more money in my time than the damn pullies cost.
How has waiting for some pulleys costing you any time? You guys are getting all worked up over parts that aren't keeping your cars from running. Do you guys honestly think that Rob doesn't want to send parts out? It's in UUC's best interest to ship parts out because they don't bill the customer until they do. All the melodrama is a bit much.
In reference to the wasted time costing money: Some people are paid or are worth and hourly rate. Say an AVERAGE new york lawyer makes or is worth 500/hr to a client, this man wastes an hour dealing with the delays and hassels of ordering uuc products and there has gone an hour he could have billed a client. follow me??
There is really no point in defending the practices of UUC, as seen above in the emails and the many disgruntled customers in this thread alone, on this small forum. Rob has yet to come back to the thread after posting 3-4 times in one day in his own defense. He knows what is being said in this thread..dont kid yourself, he hasnt responded for more than a page and especially after that email was posted.
well-great news from Turner-they say they ordered TSE's from UUC in AUGUST, still no product--freakin awesome-guess my order placed in December might get filled in a year or two??!!!!-
so, how about some exhaust advice!!wht do you guys like besides TSE??I want good sound without setting off alarms--the buzz is that Borla is too tame and Triflo is insane loud--any experience with Rogue??
rogue is a quality company with quality tech support. If i were to buy again i would go with the Rogue as the fit is much better and the sound is similar.
Gee as independent consultant I have no idea about billing clients hourly, thanks for the heads up  There is absolutely no time or effort required in ordering parts from UUC, you place the order on-line and when they ship, they ship. Calling four times a week and breaking down in tears won't make them show up any faster. Rob probably hasn't come back to this thread because he has better things to do than argue with a few people that are convinced that UUC is some kind of marketing company collecting credit card numbers, but never billing them or shipping products. If you want a UUC part, you may have to wait because hundreds of other folks want the same parts too. Rob has already said many many times that they're working on increasing production to meet the demand, less scrupulous vendors would simply jack up their prices to increase profits and limit demands, just be glad UUC is keeping their prices reasonable instead. Regardless, if waiting is going to cause you an aneurysm, go elsewhere.
FYI, Stromung's E36 M3 system is very comparable to the TSE. Both are nearly identical in weight (~24lbs), similar loudness (the Stromung is ~3dB quieter) and both have a very good fit. The Stromung does have a deeper sound, the TSE is a little more raspy. The big difference is that Stromung manufactures their own exhausts, so there's never a wait for a large batch of systems to be completed, lead times are often 2-5 business days.
