    need help with stellar alarm

i purchased my stellar alarm about 3 weeks ago and have yet to figure out where to hook the siren to. in the "greatly illustrated" instructions it shows two different places to find the factory alarm plug. i cant find anything close to what they describe. they say its a "two pin plug" and something about if you have on-board computer you have to disconnect OBC horn from this plug first. i am totally lost and i am about to just give up and run new wires from the stellar harness all the way to the place where i am mounting the siren. can anyone please help and tell me where to find this plug they are talking about so i dont have to run new wires. (my ride is an american spec 95 M3, incase it differs from each model/year)

I found mine on the passenger side right behind the headlight.

but don't listen to me, I paid 500 for my TOP of the line stellar for my convert, and the f-in thing keeps trying to raise the top when it locks the doors.

even put it on a friends 98, does the same thing.

does STELLAR, or AUTOWERKS do anything about it, respond, take it back, or ANYTHING to satisfy me or get it to work?

      NO!

my expensive alarm is sitting in a box....and they are lucky they don't live around here.

I guess I'll ebay it and have a shop install something that actually works.

STAY AWAY FROM STELLAR AND AUTOWERKS!

A lot of people have had problems with stellar alarms.

Sounds like the option to remote close your top is turned on, is there any option to turn it off?

The wires for the siren should be behind the passenger side headlight. Dig around a little bit. Maybe the person who owned the car before you cut off the connector and put in their own alarm?

Here's the worst part about that alarm.

Check to see if your double locking feature works. The easiest way is to simply lock with the alarm and see if you gas tank locks down.

Or you can try to get out of the car. If the doors can open, double locking doesn't work.

To make it work...you gotta wire some diodes...very annoying.

I have a Stellar and I'll get back to you tonight...I hate that company more than anything car related I've ever come across. Worthless company with a worthless product.

My install took about 20 hours totaled over about 2 weeks.

Sorry, to answer your original question.

I don't know where the 95's hid their alarm thing. Mine was wired where 97blk's was.

There is a 2 prong connector thing that ran along the passenger side top rail thing. Just look for a 2 prong plug sitting around with nothing connected to it.

Is your car prewired for alarm? The main unit was just plug and play right?

Okay, sorry to postwhore it up, but I didn't finish my explanation. If your double locking is disabled in a 95 car...your car can be easily hotwired. 95's tired their ignition kill into double locking. no double locking=no ignition kill.

Therefore, you just made your car EASIER to steal with this alarm.

haha, now I know what that plug is for! I thought it was something goofy with my windshield washer cleaner pump/sensor - but I got that working with just a new pump, so I just left it : )

                I have a 95 too btw

Well...that should answer your question about the location of the plug then.

Thanks for the input Angella. Seriuosly though, check out your double locking feature...that's by far the most important part of your alarm on a pre 98 car.

I had the same problem. Stellar claimed it is a short in the Convertible top (Ha!). I told them it is a fault in their alarm. The actual problem in mine was that the auto lock feature would pulse the the Convertible top. I cut the wire in the alarm harness connected to the top and it no longer opens my top. I have a bunch of other stupid problems like the shock sensor is cr@p. I plan to replace this soon.

the only thing i find by the headlights is two green wires (one with yellow stripe) that are just bare at the end. they had been connected to something, but not sense i bought it. i tried them, but they have no power to them. plus my shock sensor is ****. i tried adjusting it, but of course you need the siren pulse to know when to do it, i tried just gessing when it did the pulses. i beet the crap out of the A piller trying to adjust it, but it still goes off even when a freakin ford touras drive by it, or someone closes a door near it. i am almost about to take it out and sell it on ebay, by the factory crap, but i dont want to spend the time and money. i need to get this one working. please anyone send a pic or something of where the plug is, i am completely lost and completely unhappy with having a remote light flasher, instead of car alarm. PLEASE i need this thing working before i leave for baghdad at the end of the month (my girl is taking care of my car for me) :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Brian, the plug is located up front, passengers side (I think) and it is about an inch square greyish plastic. Mine was folded up and taped to the wire harness. My car is in storage, so sorry, no photos.

As for the cr@p shock sensor, make sure the alarm brain is securely attached to the metal frame in the dash. If it isn't, then a hummingbird will set off the alarm. Hope this helps.

the instructions said not to sicure it to the frame part, because it would ruin the distance the remote would work. which i had to move it once already, it worked great at first, then i had to be within two feet of the car to get the remote to work, so now the box is just laying behind the glove box, i will try and secure it to something though, thanks.

hey, good news on one thing. the double lock and ignition kill works. but i still cant find that damn plug. does anyone know what color the wires are, so i can atleast try and trace the wires. or what wires of the stellar box run the siren (if it comes straight from that anyway) so i can just splice into it and run wires from the box to the engine bay. I cant believe Stellar is still selling this crap. how can someone get away with selling such a Sh!ty system. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Your wire harness on the alarm is whack, they wired it up for a Euro or something. I checked out astan's last time and it was all messed up and backwards...even the diodes were wrong places...return your stellar....

I used to think Stellar had a good marketing product, harness plug and play and all....but seeing the product now makes me disappointed. Sorry astan for the poor choice of alarms....:banghead:
