    Exhaust Noise.

Why do we think that staying close to stock in sound out put when putting aftermarket racing exhaust is important? I now work as a Ferrari Mechanic and have when exposed to many of them with Tubi exhaust with gutted cats and **** if you can't here them 2 miles away when there at 8500rpm you're def. I get rides in my friends 360 with Tubi and test pipes at idle you can't hear the person sitting next to you. You have to shout to talk and at redline forget about it, at that point you can't hear your self think. But it sounds great and it puts the fear in everyone around you. My M3 sounds nothing like stock much more aggressive with my mods (see list) but it's still not as loud as many Ferrari's I have rode in.

This is more curiosity than anything.

Damn dude, if you would write in English, I could understand what you're saying!

Well.... that’s Ferrari... its expected... and rewarding in its own sense. BMW leans more toward sophistication and most people purchasing an M3 wants to retain some of that, even when upgrading, although this is not always achievable.

It also comes down to a question of WHAT you're amplifying. Our engines sound nice and all, but they're nothign compared to Ferrari engines.

These things are supposed to be daily drivers for a lot of us. They are weekend rockets like Ferraris.

I wish I had a switch to turn the loudness of my exhaust up. See, that'd be perfect.

I can tell your proof reading wouldn't have changed a thing.

You are right these are not Ferrari engines, but they are some of the best sounding engines out there in my opinion.

Mine is pretty loud and aggressive due to my mods and it's nice when cars get out of my way. As I hit my 7000rpm redline in forth on the Highway.

MAX when we meet I hope you don't mind me shoving my grammar down your mouth a long with the rest of you teeth.

                  I'm sorry, I don't know what a "gramar" is...

But you have such a wonderful way with words.

                      LOL... :rockband:

If I could make an observation though... grammar and spelling are the most important tools for effective written communication. Simply put, it's your call but if you want fast, accurate and effective comprehension then grammar and spelling should be checked. It is a forum, not an English exam so it's your call but we all need to understand the consequences.

Anyway, I really think the number of cylinders makes a difference to the exhaust sound. IMHO very loud exhausts are obnoxious. An M3 should not be obnoxious...

$0.04 ($0.02 for the English opinion and $0.02 for the exhaust opinion)

                      Peace...

Edit: A single, insignificant grammar change made as a result of an anal observation...

It's not good to make grammar mistakes as you correct some else's grammar.

Everyone makes mistakes and I don't see the big deal. IMO people that do have the own insecurities they need to work on. I am not here to make a business presentation just to carry on a conversation about M3’s.

Thank you for the clear and concise explanation on what I assumed to be fundamental principles we operate under in order to best transfer thoughts and ideas when it isn't possible to do so in an oral fashion. I would have attempted such an explanation (no matter my opinion on its usefulness) but I'm afraid I was incapacitated because of a frontal dental assault. Please carry on.
