well some friends and i were cruisin on the highway tonight at about midnight...there was a minivan behind us, but other than that the highway was empty. Suddely i hear this hissing sound...i look over and out of nowhere a yellow SRT-4 is cruising next to me. the passenger has a video camera is tryin to get me to run....the driver is revvin and blowin off like crazy...i look at my friend in the passenger seat and say "****, this guy has some serious mods and im about to get raped on video". sure enough we start at about 60 and both gun it at about the same time. as i predicted, he had about 3 cars on me by about 110.....watch out for modded SRT-4's. theyre no joke

trust me.. i know a friend that has one.. he changed the actuator spring on the waste gate and put on a boost controller running 17lbs.. with 17lbs he ran a 13.01 quarter!!!!!!!! and i believe he dynoed something like 270rwhp.. they are sick.. i love there seats though.. -
What gear were you in when you started in 60? Did you downshift to 3rd? Sorry about the loss but it is tough to be a modded turbo car like that unless you are FI yourself.Comment

I raced a few when I was stock and we were dead even up to 120. Last week I raced another one (with my mods) and I had like 2cls.

A guy I work with just bought one... he was behind me on the way to the office (out in bfe, country road 55) - we were stopped to make a left, and he rev'd a little... I went ahead and showed him what he didn't have : )
of course, I was driving the z06... dunno how the m3 would run against him. And he has 0 mods.Comment

i was in fourth, and shifted up to 3rd, but didnt slam it, just rode the clutch a little until i saw him start to take off. we probably started more around 50mph.. but man, he had to have had some SERIOUS mods, cause he put those carlengths on me like it was nothing, and he was still pulling hard too when he let off. he left me like i leave civics! i got my ass kicked....
i definitely have alot more respect for that car now...
on a funny note, right after the race, i saw some kid in a red Z06 get pulled over for speeding....lolComment

I raced an SRT4 and was just even with him all the way up to 80, once I hit fourth I was pullin on him. Afterwords we pulled into a shopping strip and he talked about all the mods he was going to do to his car and how mine had no aftermarket. I politely said "hey man, when push comes to shove, you're still driving a neon." The kid goes to my school, he never talks about cars with me anymore..

Thats funny, thats the kind of thing I would say. My sister dries a neon, nuff said. But to be on the street and lose to a car like that is something I dont want to be faced with, and thats the reasoning behind me wanting a supercharger.Comment

SRT-4 are crap i ran against one yesterday that was running 18lbs and we were even and then the second time i beat him, MY CAR IS STOCK
